![]() Culligan FM-15A Level 3 Faucet Filter By: Culligan Average Rating: 4.0 Total Reviews: 258 More Information Low cost and excelent performance! Really, this filter reduces bad odor and taste in the water and has a good price, I bought one a few days ago, and I am satisfied with it. So Far so Good 8/17/2010 Installed fairly easily. Came with adapters which I did use to install. The construction looks very durable, unlike some of the competitors like PUR(At the store the display model was already broken) and Brita. I also did research in reviews for other models, most reviews of the competition such as brita and PUR never really complained about the taste of the water, just mainly the products flimsiness and prone to breaking in a fairly short time (2 to 6 months for bad cases) average being 2 years. One recommendation for using any faucet filter after reading so many reviews dont use full pressure if you want it to last longer. I currently live in San Diego and the tap water is not the greatest. As per taste, its not bottled water but the filter makes the water just taste like nothing and there isnt much of an after taste that I can notice(both me and my roommate agree to this). That is pretty darn good for me. I wanted a faucet filter because it saves the hassle of filling jugs constantly and keeping it refrigerated. I dont like really cold water and for me tap water temperature is nice. It works nicely you turn the water on. pull on the nob tab out. Then the water flows through the filter, instead of having to push the tab back in. You can shut off the water and it will automatically go back in defaulting to the non filtering. I really like that system. I will do a follow up in 2 months as per how long the filter will perform. good deal for decent filter this filter is pretty decent. although after I changed the first filter, the water pressure wasnt as good as it was initially. Very good Compact Faucet Filter Wish the Filter came with a device of some sort which would alert you when it is no longer giving up filtered water. It says change every 200 gallons, but how are you to know when you have reached the filter change amount. Had a filter before purchasing this one, and it would shut off automatically when it stopped filtering the water. The ease of installation and its small size is definitely a plus. Would definitely buy this product again even though I am not satisified with the filter change issue. Excellent Water Filter Have been using this for two months without any issues. It can be a little bulky on your facet depending on the size of your sink but it works very well. great water filter I was not too sure about this filter at first. But, when I received it, I knew I had made the right choice. It works fine. The only peev I have is the stem to change over to filter water is suppose to automatically go back in, after you turn off the water. It works fine 9 out of 10 times, but sticks every now and then. Other than that it works fine. Love it! We were looking for a good water filter to replace our cheap Brita filter. When the Brita filter is on properly it worked great. The problem was it didnt last. Every time I replaced the filter, it got worse and worse. Spraying water (no matter how many times we took off and re-adjusted) and eventually just trickling out water even with brand new cartridges. Based on reviews, we tried this Culligan and it is fantastic. So easy to use, so easy to put on and gives us great tasting water. AND its cheaper than our "cheap" Brita. Love it! Nowhere near "ZeroWater" Quality I bought this and a ZeroWater Filtration Pitcher at the same time. Im in El Paso, TX where the water is hard, (410 by the ZeroWaters electronic tester; meaning "exceptionally high" in dissolved solids.) El Paso has natural fluoridation (and added, if I recall correctly.) Lithium and arsenic and other nasties, and this Culligan Filter may reduce them, but wont remove them! The ZeroWater eliminates them. After installing the Culligan FM-15A and letting the water run for 10 minutes as directed, I tested the water. A 400! That is not good! I retested an hour later and got a 409. It must not handle hard water well or something. Water filtered through the ZeroWater ZD-013 Filtration Pitcher with Electronic Tester, Filter Included(about 15 min to filter, NOT 4 hours like someone else wrote!) The Pitcher water tested at a 000 and after 5 or 6 gallons, a 004. The ZeroWater Filtered water has no taste; has a lightness to it. From the tap, a sort of Rio Grande-irony taste- With this Culligan Filter, a little better than the tap, but not much. I should have bought extra filters for the ZeroWater Filtration Pitcher and left this Culligan filter alone. Not a good fit I got this filter because the Pur filter kept cracking so I wanted to try something new. When I read all the great review I thought for sure this would be perfect. I even bought a replacement filter. When I hooked it up water started spraying from between the attachment and the filter so I was going to return it. They only gave me a week so I had to keep it because I was going on vacation and was not going to be able to get to a post office before I left which was the next morning early. So, I have a heavy paperweight! Great! :( Great Buy I have had this filter attached to my kitchen faucet for over a year now and have been very happy with its performance. Before using this filter, my water often had a metallic or even dirty taste, which the filter has completely removed. It has never leaked and was a snap to install. The "switch" on the filter which you pull to switch between faucet and filter is supposed to automatically reset back to faucet mode whenever you turn off the water; after a few months, mine stopped doing that. Now, when the switch is pulled out (so that water goes through the filter), it stays that way until I manually push it back in. This doesnt bother me at all, but might be inconvenient for someone else. For a while, I changed the filter every two months or so, per instructions; however, I have started using each filter for much longer than two months and have not noticed any change in the quality of the water. I would highly recommend this as a cheap, functional, and space-saving water filter. As expected I read a lot of reviews from different types (Pur, Brita..) of filters, and the reviews of this one decided me to try it. I have it since a month and my experience have been excellent. The only con that I have noticed from the water that we used to have before (5gallon refill from supermarket) is that with this filter the water have a slight taste but, nothing too extreme. Pros: 7 cents per gallon (vs. 35 cents for a refill in the supermarket), no need to go to supermarket to get water and carry them up the stair, and I have water right out the sink to cook. Cons: a little of taste. Definitively I would recommend to anyone! Not durable, no online support, no phone support Tried this based on good reviews. Out of six filters used three failed within days (they just blow out of the mount, blow past the threads, will not stay in at all). One did this when first installed. Other three only last about 50 days each..no online support system. No phone support system..trying something else. got 2, both good I bought two, for two faucets. Both work as advertised. Water tastes good with or without the filter. Much easier to use than the filtered pitcher I used to use. Only had them four days, so cant comment on long term performance. Culligan Faucet Filter REALLY works! A great product. Our tap water is usually undrinkable. But with the Culligan Filter it tastes as good if not better then bottled water. Also VERY easy to install. easy and economical Very pleasantly surprised that this works so well. Easy to install in a matter of minutes, with immediate results. I was careful to make sure ahead of time that my faucet would connect to this filter system. You will note in other reviews that it is not a one fits all deal. I do like that it came with a couple of adaptors one of which I needed for my faucet size. The water is clean tastes GREAT! This is a very affordable option for us. We have borderline well water that tastes bad but the water quality is not so bad that we need a full house system. No more buying bottle water! This purchase has already paid for itself! We love it. Good Filter Extremely easy to install. Cant say I taste a difference in water but it is being filtered...so good. Beats Brita !!!! For years I used the Brita faucet filter. Brita replaced the unit for failure on one occasion and I replaced it more then once. the batteries which let you know when to change the filter would malfunction frequently and good filters where switched when not necessary. Plus mounting them was extremely difficult on both faucets we had in the kitchen. The Culligan filter was very easy to mount and the water was , in my and my wifes opinion more thoroughly filtered. We use the water for ice cubes and with Brita a lot of sediment always was present in the ice. Not with Culligan-none at all. Outstanding product not many people aware of. First Time Buying - THRILLED Read a lot of reviews. Didnt know which brand/type of sink filter system to buy. When this came on sale and with the reviews, gave it a blind-faith try. LOVE IT. SIMPLE, EASY TO INSTALL ... and LOVE the default "off" switch which one of the other reviews wrote about. No waste and dont have to remember to turn on/off. Just pull little lever out when you want purified water. Turn of sink, pops back to off PERFECT .... ESPECIALLY for the the price! Sore Throat=Mold?? This is a nice cheap faucet filter but Im afriad it might be the cause of me and my cousins sore throat.. he got pretty sick, I only got a sore throat because I did a 16 day lemonade fast so my body can process chemicals like chlorine and bacteria like mold more effeciently, anyways Please help! Any tips are appreciated! Do I clean the filter with bleach and hot water? let it dry for a day? buy a new one? Black water? I installed this in about two minutes. Dont be shocked when black water comes out when you turn it on! After a few minutes, the water will clear. My water now tastes terrific and Im no longer afraid to drink from the tap. I feel great knowing I wont be buying bottled water anymore and Im saving about $18.00 per month! Delivery was actually faster than I was told. Buy it! Great little filter IF you have decent water pressure I adore this little unit but it does not work in my city with such low water pressure. The Pur is the only one which will perform even pathetically. No, its not my apartment building because Ive lived in two other places in the same city with miserable water pressure. This unit will work like a champ under the right conditions. culligan FM-15A level 3 filter was easy to install, I like the fact the filter switches back to regular water when shut off, easy tab to pull on again. I wish the water would come out faster wth the filter on but I can live with it. Excellent filter, make sure it fits! I used this for about 15 months. The original filter lasted about a year (much longer than expected) and I found some replacements on Amazon for a decent price. The only reason it got 4 stars and not 5 is this: I just moved, and it doesnt work on my new faucet. Not a real complaint, but takes away from the product a bit. I believe it only has 2 or 3 different size fittings, so make sure one of them fits yours. love it! this is a great filter! It is small and easy to install. The water tastes great and I have had no problems with it so far (Ive had it about 2 months now) Awesome! Ive tried various makes of water filters and this one is the best! All others are made with inferior light weight plastic while this is the first to be metal. Thank God for Culligan filters, finally a product that lives up to the hype. I will never use any other brand. Affordable, convenient, and easy to install When my faucet aerator recently broke, I decided that instead of looking for a replacement, Id try this product and also benefit from improved water quality. Installation was so easy. It took me literally less than a minute to have water running through it. The water pressure through the filter is somewhat reduced, which tells me that it actually does something. In my case, its sufficiently strong to fill up a cup of drinking water without too much delay. The automatic diverter is really a sweet feature. The product could probably be made sightlier using a chorme housing, but this is not the most important thing to me in a water filter. This is the best water filter Look no farther . This is the best and easy to use . A guality made product and taste great ! Let it run for 15 secounds before you start filling and it taste as good as Crystal Geyser water . You cant tell the difference . Acording to consumer reports on ABC , this one and one with a pitcher are the only ones that really take out the most impurities . Think about it . The pitcher is a hassle . This is always there ready to go ! Plus more gallons per filter which is the same price as the other filters which are less gallons till changing time . This is one of the best products Ive ever purchased ! Love it ! Eric C Great Product Culligan Faucet Mount Filter This product is easy to instal with no tools required. Works well but the only flaw is that it loosens itself too easily from the faucet so frequent tightening is required. Otherwise, it is a great value for the price. Cheap, better than others, long lasting, simple. I love this product. Elegant in its simplicity, its much better than the Pur faucet filter and the plastic Brita pitchers. I dont understand the Brita pitchers- why filter out the impurities when the water is sitting for a day in plastic? The 200 gallon life of the filters makes this cheaper than others. I like the swivel feature of the filter. You can swivel it back when youre using the faucet for other things and swivel it forward when you need your glass to get closer to it. Mixed Review We just moved into town, leaving behind our good well water. We have temporarily been using bottled water and just switched to this faucet filter. However this morning as I was washing dishes by hand, I removed it. It was really in my face as I worked at the sink and it has often been in the way as I reached for either the hot or cold faucet. (It doesnt obstruct the faucet handles, its just in my line of sight and hides them from view.) It always seemed to be in the way when I went to swivel the faucet to one side or the other. I tried the filter on both the right side and left side of the faucet. Its nice that you have that choice but it didnt make any difference for me. Obviously this has a lot to do with my sink setup, my height and my druthers. I am keeping the filter because I may be getting a new sink and fixtures and may try it again in the future. I was dissappointed in the taste of the water but I can only compare it with well water and the bottled water we have been using. I guess I will get a pitcher filter and then I will know if a different filter actually results in a different taste. It definitely removed the chlorine taste. Flow is slow but adequate. We had decided if it was too slow for us we would fill a jug for quicker delivery when we needed it. For instance, if you were filling a number of water glasses for dinner you would tie up the sink for quite a while. I am giving it 4 stars because it seems to be doing what its supposed to. The devil is in the details. Pros: Went on easily with included adapter Doesnt leak Cons: Filters not available locally, have to order from amazon In my face It says water over 100º will ruin filter and it seems to me that is likely to happen by accident A great alternative to others on the market I love this filter. It attached easily to my faucet and it DOESNT LEAK! The water tastes great. I love that its easy to transfer from the tap water to the filtered water just by pulling out the metal pin. I have mobility problems and this is by far the easiest faucet filter Ive used. Great easy to install filter Pro: Easy to install and use, relatively cheap, works Con: filter does not last very long - about 2 months good filter good filter easy to setup had it for a month now still works great I would put the water in a gallon container the water comes out a little slow Great Filter! I have been using the filter for about a year now, it works great. The water tastes great and filter replacement is simple. Really good, economical filter Ive used Pur and Brita filters over the years and have been annoyed at how expensive they tend to run (both in terms of initial cost and replacement filters). This Culligan filter works just as well (if not better) for half the price. I like the fact that it has no frills (i.e. flashy plastic chrome), installs easily and is relatively small. Replacement filters are inexpensive and easy to install. Overall, Ive been very satisfied with this filter model. Culligan FM-15A Level 3 Faucet Filter Just installed it, fast and easy, sounds great. the filterd water has no taste or smell, hope doesnt have lead and mercury either. You owe it yourself to save money with Amazon on this ... ... top rated Consumer Reports faucet filter. We had the GE but this Culligan removes so many more impurities from your water it makes the water better than bottled. Bottled water has bacteria in it from sitting around. Buy this and have fresh, clean water anytime you want it. great choice After I bought this, it got rated number one in a leading consumer magazine. I can see why. Very easy to install and works perfectly. I can taste the difference in water weather drinking plain, or in tea, coffee, or powdered drinks. Not flashy but I am not terribly concerned about fashion for my kitchen sink. An excellent quality filter from a known brand in water. I do feel like the flow is a little slow--BUT--I live in the inner city and have low water pressure filter or not. That being said it does cope with the low pressure. By that I mean it always does flow, even if very slow. Awesome little thing! This filter works perfectly! I connected it in less than a minute, let the water flow like the directions said, and now I have wonderfully filtered water. I especially love the small profile, and water knob that switches from filtered and regular water, because I have a small sink area. This product works lovely, and the water pressure is surprisingly great! I highly recommend you try this before brita and pur filtration systems! Water filter This is not a good filter. I really wanted it to be, due to the price, but I wasted my money. Its bulky on the faucet, the toggle quits working, so you have to manually switch it over, and it is just plain cheap. I respect Culligan and this was a nice try, but... I just got an Aquasana for 99.00 and LOVE it. Fast running, clean tasting, toggle works, it is great. Have been using sink faucet filters for years, this is my first Culligan. Sofar so good! As I was saying in the title, we have had every brand of water filter on our sink since we moved in, (roughly 7 years). Our city water is pretty good, not nearly as bad as my parents water that comes from a well. Brita are very expensive, and I could never get it to install well enough so that it wouldnt leak all the time. PUR was the same way. Also, those replacement filters were just about as expensive as the whole unit so I often just bought a new unit instead of bothering with a filter hoping it would stop leaking. I decided to give Culligan a shot. Growing up in South Florida, Culligan water softeners were everywhere. The unit price is very good and the replacement filter cost is awesome. Installing the unit was straight forward. I have a new faucet that had a female connector so I had to use an adapter. Once I put that in it was a snap to install the Culligan. One thing I like alot about the unit is that it swings freely from one side to the other. Leaks (+) Doesnt leak at all and moves freely from either side of the faucet without any leaking. Taste (+) Like I was saying our water is pretty good but can taste a bit chlorine like at times and this filter cleans it even further. Features (+) As other reviews mentioned its great to pull out the knob, let your glass fill and then when you turn it off it goes back to the faucet automatically. Flow (-) One thing I am a bit disappointed with is the water flow. It is significantly slower than our last filter (Brita). I can only assume its cleaning better. Overall (+) This is a fine filter making water that is almost tasteless. Even if you live where the water is "clean" it cant hurt to filter the water one more time before you drink it. Tip: Run the water for a couple of minutes after install because the first bit that comes out is black. Thanks for reading my review. Didn't fit my faucet The online manual suggests that this filter can be used with nearly any faucet. Well, that doesnt include mine -- and my kitchen faucet is a late model unit. Frustrating and disappointing. My faucet has external threads, and the Culligan FM-15A was simply too large for it. I have trouble believing that Im alone. water taste bad, replaceemnt cartridge hard to find I bought this based on the high review rating here. But the water still tasted out from the tap. Can not find the replacement cartridge in the hardware store here, need to purchase that online when the time comes. Should have bought a more common brand, Brita/Pur. Works well, replacements not readily available After reading many horrible reviews on competitors, we chose the Culligan filter. So far, it has worked fine. *The water flow is really reduced after installation (not just when using the filter, but when it is switched off as well). I would suggest saving time by filling a large gallon bottle with filtered water all at once versus filling one glass at a time. *The switch on the filter that automatically (most of the time, anyway) shuts off once you have turned off the water is an asset. *The only complaint is in regards to replacement filters and costs. There is little supply for this, so one has to either shop around and find a local store that carries one (for a higher cost), which is a challenge- or plan ahead and order online. *In the end, the water quality is great. It really eliminates the chlorine and other unpleasant tastes from our city water. Sturdy, simple, works great This is my third faucet-attached water filter. I think its finally my last. I chose the previous two because they were somewhat more attractive. That was a mistake. Despite being shiny, the most important bits were plastic, and failed easily. Having the shiny front facade of my Pur faucet filter repeatedly fall off and into the disposal was no joy. The faucet-connected bits of this model are 100% metal, and sturdy at that. The filter basin is still plastic, but its a thicker plastic than the Pur or Brita units, and it sure feels like its going to last. San Francisco water is okay, but has a bit of a chlorine taste. This gets rid of that completely, making it taste better than Dasani bottled water - probably on par with Arrowhead for the almost-absent taste, but not as good as Glaceau. One really cool feature, which I havent seen in other units, is that the filter automatically switches back to tap mode when you turn off the faucet. Theres a little spring-loaded bit you pull to switch to filtered, and that pops back when the water pressure is gone. The only down side is that this seems to require more water pressure than the other units Ive had. This means that water comes out much more slowly - a good 20-30 seconds to fill an 18 ounce cup. Its not dreadful, but it would be nice if water went through the filter a bit more quickly. Maybe that means its a better filter, but wouldnt it be possible to make the filter a bit larger to let more water through at once to compensate? Still, on the whole - I couldnt suggest any other model after spending some time with this one. Finally! I cant believe Ive been using the Pur filters as long as I have. They invariably leak after a month or two and start spraying water everywhere. The Culligan is great. I could not recommend it higher. Terrific filter! Cost effective and easy to install I purchased this filter hoping it would live up to expectations and it absolutely did. Setup was a breeze and the water tastes great. I normally drink tap water since bottled water is not regulated that well and can contain bacteria. When I unscrewed the tip of my faucet to attach the filter, I was amazed how much calcium and dirt buildup there was on the regular faucet screen. I attached the Culligan filter and the water looked a lot clearer and tasted much cleaner/fresher. Its important to remember that right after you install the filter you need to let it run for 10 minutes to clear out any filter debris (which is harmless, but does effect the clarity of the water if you dont flush the filter first). I highly recommend this filter as it is well worth the minimal cost and will save you a load of money by eliminating the need to buy bottled water. A faucet filter that works very well This thing is perfect. First faucet filter that I buy and Im glad I trusted the reviews in Amazon, rather than buying other more popular brands. The filter is easy to mount and makes clean and tasty water. Now I have the convenience of not having to carry gallons of water from the shop and I also save money - it will make 200 gallons with one filter, so your cost is less than $0.10 for a gallon of clean, fresh water. The manual says to replace it every 200 gallons or 2 months, but I calculated I use about 30 gallons a month and Im using the filter for 4 months already without any decrease of water quality or speed. The only cons that I could think of is that the water flow is a bit slow as other reviews also noted, but thats not a issue for me at all. I would like if it removed fluorides too, but I understand that this is a feature of the more advanced and expensive reverse osmosis systems. The verdict - if you want convenient, cheap, clean and fresh water, look no further - buy this filter! it actually works! Im a big water drinker and I have been looking for a tap water filter system for some time. However, due to bad tastes or a faulty product i never found the right one. After purchasing this product I can say that it works. Its easy to install, comes with multiple attachments, an auto shut off for the filter, and even has a noticeably better taste. This is a five star product. This is a Good Product First, the water tastes reallygood. Or I should say it doesnt taste, so I rate the product as excellent. Second, to respond to the other reviews which characterize the auto switch button as not working: WHO CARES? For the price and quality, It is NO hardship to push the button back. Mine never worked. But Im coming from years of Brita whose non-auto-switch-back lever never ceased to annoy me. Third, this filters lack of "indicator light" when its time to change filters: I never trusted those things anyway. I solved that problem by doing the following: I fill a 1-gallon bottle of water each time and write a simple slash marking on a piece of paper which I hang on the fridge. Since this is my first time with this product, Ill only have to do this process once to get an idea of how long it takes me to use 200 gallons. Interestingly enough this solved the other complaint of others that the flow was too slow. I just pour from the gallon jug for whatever needs I have and thus control the "flow rate." I also disagree that the flow rate from the filter is slow. But if your impatience quotient is high, its easier to put the gallon jug under the faucet and do some other tasks while it is filling, than stand around waiting for a glass to fill. But even then, gimme a break. Thats NO hardship. Regarding where to buy the filters, duh, how about Amazon and buy a bunch at at time? For the price, quality and the fact that it doesnt come flying off the faucet, this is a 5-star culligan faucet filter We live on Lake Ontario and our water tastes like it comes right from the bottom. This filter has saved us the bother of buying gallons of water and carting it home every few days. The water tastes like bottled spring water and it is easy to install also. Highly recommend. water saver so far so good, I dont see any great difference in water quality or taste. It has a nice feature of turning off or on for use. The down side is slow pour. Excellent Product and very cost effective I have owned every type and brand of water filter product available and to this date the best product is this one. The overall cost for the sink adapter unit and the filters is remarkable, I spend over in a year 1/4 of the cost compared to other products. In response to all of the one star reviews and or opinions "You cant fix stupid." Simple. Easy. Good. Had the Pur, which was difficult to use. Also it leaked like hell. The Culligan is a lot sturdier. It was extremely easy to install and operates with a single button that always goes back to unfiltered when the tap is turned off. Culligan faucet filter Love my new Culligan faucet filter. Performs well and now have good water again. Recommend to everyone. easy to install and I like the size. Doesnt get in the way while using your faucet. Filter kept popping off faucet Installed relatively easily and then I, inadvertently, bumped it when I was turning the faucet from side to side. Just popped right off. Put it on again, did the same thing. Now I am just careful that I do not bump it because I had a devil of a time getting it back on. Does take the chlorine taste out of the water but I could fall asleep while waiting for a glass of water to fill up. ok could be better My co-workers and I decided we wanted a filter for our break room and purchased this one mainly based on the cost. Set up was easy but we found that it tends to leave a weird after taste(my brita filter at home doesnt do that). I think for the price its not bad but could be better.... A good filter in a pinch... For the longest time wed owned and used a GE SmartWater faucet filter. Dont know why GE decided to abandon a nice product, but they did. Having no replacement filters for the GE, we purchased a PUR filter. DO NOT BUY A PUR filter. TERRIBLE product; poorly designed. After 2 weeks needed to replace the PUR. Opted for the well rated (Amazon.com) Culligan. Install was easy. It came with a fresh new filter which was also TERRIBLE !! Water flowed through the new filter at an alarming rate and water quality was HORRIFIC. Took a last gamble on Culligan, that their original filter was malfunctioning. Ordered one replacement from Amazon. Thank goodness this one worked. I guess pride in product and quality is a thing of the past, and consumers pay the price. Bad water pressure I bought the Culligan Level 3 faucet filter. It was easy to install and use ,it just doesnt have the water pressure I like. I takes forever to fill up a gallon jar. This is an important feature for me. As for the taste, the water tastes fine I just want more pressure. When I used another brand, the pressure was great but I didnt like the taste of the product. Great!! I used to have PUR, and was sick of the leaking. I bought the PUR faucet filter FOUR TIMES and returned them all. This one is great. You do not need to worry about the leaking. Taste is also clean and crispy. Nice Filter The only problem I have been having with this faucet filter has been the leak around the gasket. So have to reseat the gasket every time it starts leaking. Terrific Water Filter! I bought the Culligan faucet filter & a replacement cartridge for my brother & his wife, after reading other reviews indicating the Culligan was better than the Pur or Brita, more widely known brands. My brother & step-sister love it! They said it was easy to install & they like that the user has to actually turn it on instead of wasting good filtered water when its not needed. They said they are using the filtered water even more than they had thought they would! I would highly recommend this product. The Best! Ive been using this filter system for almost a year. I couldnt be more satisfied with this product. Its great! Ive had other faucet filters in the past with many problems. After seeing all the good reviews I decided to give this Culligan a try. Everything Ive read here turned out to be true - it installs quickly and easily... and its tight (no leaks or anything, ever!). And it has held up great over time with constant use, never had a single issue with it, and the water is excellent! What else? Its easy to keep clean, doesnt get in the way, very sturdy, cost effective and reliable. I highly recommend this item. Avid review reader agrees... This product already has so many rave reviews... the only thing I would add is that I always keep this product in my cart (save for later section), so I can stock up when it is offered at a lower price point... Ive purchased it at 14 bucks and 19 bucks and feel that it is worth the money (started keeping it in the cart after paying the 19). Water Water Everywhere I have two of these, and both work really well, except some times it doesnt close automatically, so you push it in. But a Cart. goes a long way before you change it, depending on the water odor, taste, etc. In FL. the water in my area, has a terrible taste but I still get at least 2 months plus, from a Cart. using at least two gallons a day. Would have given it 5 stars except for the auto feature. Its easier to work around it in the sink as the unit is smaller than other units, so less bulk. All in All a very nice unit. My other unit in NJ lasts even longer since water is better tasting. Bought this unit in Nov and still working on original Cart. Best Faucet Mount Very good product for this type of filtration. Have used it for 3 months and much better quality than the Brita and PUR which have plastic threads and wind up stripping after extended use. Metal fitting makes Culligan superior to aforementioned brands. Would be 5 stars if the valve stem, which is pulled out to activate filter, disengaged when water is shut off. (It did at first but started sticking after a month.) A little inconvenient but not a show stopper. Also, Culligan does not have an indicator light that notifies you when filter needs to be replaced. However, this feature on the other brands was not very reliable and stopped working after several months of use. cracked n broke when replacement filter was installed product worked great for a couple of months. first filter change, replacement popped out and broke. Amazon kindly sent another..same thing happened,,the filter housing cracked. Water tasted great, would replace the whole thing every 60 days if price was same as replacement filter. it was great while it worked.Culligan FM-15A Faucet Filter Works Great, Easy Installation This unit was very easy to install, I just took it out of the box, took off the old cap from my faucet and installed this faucet filter. I experienced no loss of water flow when using it in South Florida. Time will tell how the filter holds up over time but so far im happy with my purchase. BEST KEPT SECRET After researching many faucet filters, this one got the best reviews and was the cheapest. Ive gone the Brita route, and the PUR filter was reduced to a trickle after only a few weeks. The Culligan not only provides a steady stream, but the taste is incredible! Weve had it for about a month and the water quality is so much improved my wife has admitted to drinking more water now! The automatic reset when you shut off the faucet is a great little feature too! Filtered Water with No Hassles What can I say? It works, it doesnt leak and it stays on the faucet, which is more than I can say for the recent Brita and Pur faucet filters. The threads that attach to the faucet are metal and its deeply threaded enough to stay firmly attached. It doesnt have the fancy bells and whistles of the others - no "change filter" light (make a note on your calendar) and after several months of use the little lever you pull to direct water through the filter tends to stick in the "filtered" position (annoying, but not a big deal), but these are a small price to pay for clean water with no aggravation. Speaking of price, as of this writing it costs less than the competing filters too! Great for the money Pretty good and solid filter.Got it installed in under 5 minutes. Ive been using it for 4 months now and have replaced 2 filters so far( takes less than a minute). Good water taste and filter never came off the faucet ( like some other filters do.) The only thing is that the filter does not turn off automatically sometimes now. I accidentally ran a hot water through it few times. Each filter starts running really slow after a 1-1.5 months. Im guessing this is due to stuff building up inside. Other than that - water tastes great, and its much cheaper than bottle water. It can not be installed on my faucet I can not install this product. I live in California and our apartment has normal faucet like most of the others. I just can not screw it into position of my faucet. It just does not work. This is something I never expected based on the better reviews of this product than the other PUR brand. Its waste of time and money for me. I am going to return it. wasted money based on these reviews Ive read reviews on amazon for all filters and decided on these. I live in New York and by the time the water comes out our faucets its almost like sewage. Ive tried three myself, one was broken and two of the filters out of five were not functioning. My girlfriend got one and it wasnt much better. We have both moved around and no matter what water pressure we had the amount of water coming out of these filters has been pathetic. It was mostly just dripping, sort of like not closing the faucet all the way. Ive bought additional three filters, and one had great pressure but I dont think it filtered as I could still taste the chlorine. For some reason these get clogged up after two years and even turned off the water pressure drops dramatically. In the end they dont filter or allow water to flow through. I wondered about suing this company, but theyre too pathetic for me to do that as poland spring already ruined their business and home delivery services. Hopefully you will stay away, but if not feel free to learn from your own mistakes. water filter It works good. I doesnt leak. It was a good price. The speed of water is fine. The only thing is the little valve that is suppose to automatically go in once the water is turned off broke. We just have to make sure we push it back in so the filter doesnt get ruined from hot water. It's True -- This One DOES Work! The Brita faucet filter does an excellent job of filtering out impurities from tap water -- that is, when it manages to stay attached to the faucet. However, in my experience with it (two years and two different models), a tremendous amount of my valuable time was wasted trying to reattach the filter after it would repeatedly fall off. Although I have no direct experience with the Pur faucet filter, my understanding (drawn from other reviews) is that it suffers from the same problem. Happily, after purchasing the CULLIGAN Faucet Filter several months ago, I can now report with confidence that it is plagued by no such similar defect. In other words, once attached, it remains firmly in place, and works every bit as effectively as rival brands. So for anyone who has tried those other brands and encountered endless frustration in endeavoring to keep them attached to the faucet, my advice is: Dont give up just yet! Try the Culligan model. Its solidly built, competitively priced, and replacement cartridges are readily available from Amazon. For me, at least, the Culligan at last put an end to the gratuitous, time-wasting burden of having to continually reattach a recalcitrant water filter. water filtration Filter mounted easily. Cant say water tasted any different. Pressure was reduced with filter on. Problem is water wont shut off instantly but keeps running slowly for about 3 seconds. Only three weeks and already problems! Bought this three weeks ago. Seems to filter the water okay but the valve stem has already stopped working which means you have to remember to push it back in after each use or the filter wont last every long! a few flaws but works after using the filter for 4 months I thought it warranted a review.I have replaced the filter once and the water tastes great, but little can be said about the mechanical aspect of the filter. It does not leak at all but the knob that was supposed to switch back to tap water once you are done filtering does not work anymore, this can be somewhat annoying though not that big an issue.I dont know if its because of the sediments collecting in the filter, but on changing the filter, initially the flow is good but as time goes by the flow turns into almost a trickle. In all a good filter with a few mechanical issues. C'mon, you can do it, too Okay, I have to admit, that I have had this filter for a few months, never removed from the box. In the meantime, Ive been environmentally unfriendly, by toting home bottled water. Im not sure why, but for some reason I had an air of intimidation, that I would have difficulty installing this thing, or that it would not function as well as I had hoped. Yeah, Im a bottled water snob and can probably identify my favorite brands blindfolded by the taste. So, I suspected my water would still taste hard, with its ghastly offensive, chlorine odor, and taste. To avoid disappointment in myself, or it, I denied I needed to tackle this job. Well, I feel so foolish, now. It took me all of 10 minutes to install it today, without even reading the instructions, so ANYONE can do it---trust me. Then I gave it a taste test and was more than satisfied. I could no longer smell, or taste the chlorine. My water tasted almost as good as the spring water sitting on the counter. So, I have happy, dancing feet, today. I feel I have accomplished something that is worthwhile, not only for myself, but for the environment. I also think my lumbar spine will enjoy a break from toting water home. I dont know how well the system will hold up in my very hard water environment. But it is quite inexpensive, so if I have to replace it due to hard water damage, it will not be that problematic. best little water filter I am lucky that GE made the all-metal self-shutoff valve available to Culligan - I could not find the GE filter with that valve any more after the last such GE model had been discontinued. All the new GE filters now have a different design. Having an auto valve switch from filter to tap water makes the entire construct last much longer, because you do not need to turn a faucet or handle off. It is also very convenient - pull the valve out and you get filtered water; then just turn off the water and the valve (spring-loaded) snaps back into its tap water position - great! Adds "airy" taste to water Read all the reviews before buying this filter. I wasnt impressed. Installation was quick and easy, but the taste of the water was a bit chalky and "airy". Useful Life Is roughly maybe a year or more before the threads start strippng and leaking from replacing the filter about every 2 months. After recently purchasing a second filter and compared to other filters on the market this one is worth the price and quality. Great!!!! I love this water filter. My older brother recommended it. I enjoy drinking the water. =) This filter has a decent price and it was very easy to install. Faucet Filter Great faucet filter, seems to filter better than the PUR faucet filter I had. It still doesnt get everything, but if i put it through one of those filter pitchers, it seems to do the job for the mostpart. There is still a slight bitter aftertaste from the Phoenix water. DOES WHAT IT CLAIMS TO THIS PRODUCT PERFORMS AS IT CLAIMS, WITH ECONOMICAL PRICE, EASY INSTALLATION AND MINUS THE BELLS AND WHISTLES OF THE MORE EXPENSIVE AND WELL KNOWN (BRITA, PUR, ETC) WATER FILTERS. MOST REVIEWS WARNED TO AVOID THESE FILTERS FOR A VARIETY OF REASONS, TOO VARIED TO LIST HERE, BUT DO THE RESEARCHAND MAKE UP YOUR OWN MIND. THIS CULLIGAN FILTER IS COMPACT, EASY TO INSTALL (ADAPTERS INCLUDED) AND REMOVES SMELL, TASTE AND CONTAMINATES. IN FACT WATER HAS NO TASTE, WHICH IS WHAT YOU ARE ULTIMATELY LOOKING FOR. RELACEMENT FILTERS NEARLY THE COST OF BASE UNIT, SO THAT PURCHASING THE ENTIRE BASE UNIT IS THE BEST BUY. ONLY NEGATIVE IS THAT THERE IS NO AUTOMATIC REMINDER TO TELL YOU WHEN TO CHANGE THE FILTER, BUT RETURN OF SOUR TASTE AND SMELL PROBABLY THE BEST INDICATOR. MAY NOTICE THE DECREASE IN WATER PRESSURE WHEN INSTALLED, BUT THE TRADE-OFF(PRICE AND PERFORMANCE) WELL WORTH IT. Great so far.... Works well so far. I find it a lot easier to use than the Brita I had before, mainly due to the ease of switching between filtered and unfiltered. Unlike with the Brita, switching doesnt place any stress on the assembly so it should last longer. The switch doesnt always return to unfiltered mode as it should but thats not a minor issue. The only real negative I see is that it doesnt have an indicator as to when the filter needs to be replaced. Does not fit our faucet I bought this product due to its good review. However, this is not something you should buy without trying. Our faucet is Kohler, but we cannot find any adaptor fit both in Lowes, Home Depot, or local plumbing stores. We are going to return it. What a disappointment! I have not blindly chosen just any faucet filter since Ive carefully read through many reviews and many more different types of products. Sure Culligan Faucet Filter got many good reviews, but it fell short of all expectations in my case. The filter worked decently the first week (though the water was never really clean); the little knob on the side soon got stuck, preventing the water from switching back to normal mode in just a few days. On top of that, the water pressure was never very fast to begin with, but after just a week, the water seems to be even slower than normal, and is pretty much "leaking" out from the faucet rather than pouring out. I tried everything I could with twisting/moving the filter inside around, but no help. So much for the filter lasting about 2 months. This product is a disappointment! I suggest that you do more research before you decide on this product. Great if you follow this simple advice... I have no complaints about the construction or operation of the filter. Its one of the nicer faucet-mounted filters there are, with a very nice solid feel of quality. However, I did experience what some of the other reviewers mentioned: after a short while the filter didnt appear to have any affect on the taste of the water. The problem, I discovered, is that if you run the water through the filter too quickly (by opening up the tap all the way) the charcoal filter just cant do its job. As a rule of thumb, only allow enough flow through the filter so that it takes about 15 seconds to fill up a glass of water, and youll have great tasting water. So, if you have high water pressure, make sure you dont open of the faucet all the way when filling a glass. Theres just no way a filter as small as this can do its job properly at the max flow rate of most faucets. You really need a large in-line filter for that. Note that this only applies to the filters odor and taste removal properties, because this involves a chemical reaction of sorts where activated charcoal pulls chlorine (and other chemical) out of the water by binding to them. This is a completely different mechanism than what you normally associate with filtering, such as particles being caught in a mesh (which is essentially how the rest of the filter works in these, and so its really only the odor and taste that is affected by the rate at which you let water through the Culligan). Finally, a good quality faucet-mount water filter Ive been using a Brita pitcher filter for the past seven years. It still works fine, but Ive gotten tired of having to constantly replace the filters, and it seems like the new filters arent doing quite as good a job as the old ones, so I decided to look into a faucet filter. I immediately ruled out the ones made by Brita and PUR after reading all the bad reviews. When I came across this filter from Culligan and saw the high number of favorable reviews, I decided to give it a try. Ive had the Culligan FM-15A for a couple of weeks and so far, so good! It does a nice job of making my water taste better. It doesnt taste quite as lovely as a cold bottle of Poland Spring, but it does taste as good as, or slightly better than, the water I used to get from my Brita pitcher. Installation was simple and took about five minutes. The only tricky part was trying to figure out which adapter to use in my internally-threaded faucet. After that, it was smooth sailing. The instructions say that the filter core is good for two months or 200 gallons. Since I live alone and certainly dont drink 200 gallons of water every two months (I probably drink a gallon a day at the very most, which would be 60 gallons every two months), I wasnt exactly sure when I should replace the filter. I sent an e-mail to Culligan and received a reply the next day. They stated the most important factor is how much water has passed through the filter. So, if youre like me, you can get away with replacing the filter every six months or so. On the other hand, if you have a big family that consumes more than 200 gallons every two months, you may need to replace it sooner than that. I would suggest measuring your drinking water usage for a couple of days, and then sitting down with a calculator to figure out how often you should replace your filter. Im absolutely thrilled that Ill only have to replace mine every six months! One final note: the product description on this page (as of the day Im writing this review) says that the product has a five year warranty; however, the product I received has only a two year warranty. Five would have been nice, but two is still better than one. Hopefully Amazon will update the description accordingly. Keeps falling off! After the filter arrived, I followed the installation instructions. Since the faucet holder threads are internal, I used the best fitting adapter that was included with the kit. I tightened the adapter into the faucet holder, then attached the filter unit onto the adapter. Everything seemed secure, but when I turned on the water, the whole unit and adapter fell out of the faucet holder and crashed into the sink. After several attempts and about 20 minutes, I finally managed to get it to stay in. Or so I thought. It was fine for about a day. Then this morning, it fell out and crashed into the sink. This knocked the glass out of my hand, but miraculously the glass didnt break and I wasnt injured. But Ive had enough and dont want to take any more chances Culligan FM-15A My husband and I purchased this item, because we already own another Culligan item, a pitcher with a filter. Although we like the pitcher, it would take forever to fill up our water containers - that is the reason we bought the facet. We had some difficulties putting it together at first. The instructions were not that easy to understand how to take apart the pieces to your facet to put on the filter pieces for the Culligans filter for individuals who have never really done this. However, once my husband figured out how to do it, it was smooth sailing. The only downside to this product is when we turn on the water; it literally shots the water off powerfully. It can spray a good portion of the counter around the sink. Therefore, we take the facet off rather than leaving it on. But it does fill all our cups of water, gallons and containers easily. I think you also have the replace the filter every "X" amount of months. I am not sure of the exact number. That could of course save you from buying several gallons of water at the grocery store each week, but then cost you several dollars each "X" amount of months. Wish I could tell you more! No problem with the order or delivery, but it doesnt fit my faucet. Home depot doesnt sell an adapter that works. Im going to have to go to a pluming supply store to try and find a solution. This is a real pain in the butt for a simple water filter! Great filter This filter is the best Ive ever owned. Ive wasted so much money buying the other brands over and over. So far this one is holding up great. Great price and the water tastes great too and that is what I wanted. very nice bought this item after reading everyone elses review of it. when i finally received the item, it was just a matter of minutes before i got my item hooked up to the kitchen faucet and i mean like 5-10 mins. and as for the design, i really like the way this filter is in front of the faucet making it easier to move the faucet around.. i would buy another item like this if i had another faucet to use it on. good item, very nice indeed. Blood, Sweat & Tears So Far! Now Let's See... I have high hopes for this Culligan Faucet-Filter; it had BETTER deliver - its taken lotsa sweat even to get it installed! [Okay, I exaggerated in my caption, talking of blood and tears. Sue me.] I earlier bought a Pur Faucet-Filter, but returned it to the store unopened, scared off by the multiple reviews claiming that its plastic components cracked with little use. Passed on getting a Brita for the same reason. The glowing reviews of this Culligan model, many emphasizing its robust metal fittings, sold me on it. So, via Amazon, made the purchase. The Filter arrived with Amazons usual shipping speed; then trouble began. Turns out the faucet in my apartment is from an older era, with a smaller diameter than todays standard fittings. So its external threads couldnt begin to mate with the corresponding internal threads of the Culligans built-in sleeve. The Culligan came with two different male/male couplers, but both of those were designed to allow its sleeve to mate with internally threaded faucets. I needed a true male/female adapter, externally threaded on one end to mate with the Culligans sleeve and internally threaded on the other end to mate with my faucet. Trips to Lowes and Home Depot were fruitless. One of them actually had the right type of adapter, but in much too large a size. A desperate call to Culligan gave me the verdict from their technician that the two couplers as packaged with their Filter were all they could provide; I was on my own. Drats. Cutting to the chase, salvation came with a trip to this local specialty plumbing supplier which everyone kept telling me about. After describing to them what I needed, we started exploring their bins where such adapters and couplers were stored; most of these bins were empty and it looked like a losing cause... until one bin had exactly two of the little baby I needed, at $2.40. Sold! Ive rated this Culligan Filter less than a full Five Stars because the aggravation and turmoil of seeking out that extra accessory to make it work has to detract from the product, even if it is not their fault that my faucet doesnt meet the latest standards. Several reviewers here have reported the identical problem, and most assigned this Filter One Star as a result. So far, Ive noticed that the water-flow through the filter is half of what the bare faucet allows, but this is to be expected and will be tolerable as long as it doesnt lessen significantly. As to the taste test, that is yet to come. A follow-up review will appear from me in due course. Small, but does a big job well For a small, inexpensive faucet filter, this one does its job beautifully. The flow of water through this filter is more than adequate. Our previous filter flowed at little more than a trickle, and it took forever to fill a pitcher. The Culligan fills the pitcher almost as fast as the faucet alone does. I liked the fact that it defaulted to the faucet whenever you turned it off, but after a few short months of use, the button now sticks in the open position, so it is necessary to manually push it in to return the flow of water to the faucet. Thats really a minor annoyance, and certainly not one that would stop me from recommending this faucet. And Ive found the the filters remain effective for much longer than the manufacturer suggests, so replacement is not necessary as often as is recommended, making this a very economical filter to use. good filter but.... This filter seems much better than other faucet filters Ive used in the past. Totally takes out any chlorine odor. However, it is supposed to be changed every two months where my other one was three months plus sometimes the little pull out valve stem sticks so the filter stays on all the time instead of popping back in for non filter use. Still, I would buy this over the less expensive products because I do think it works better. filter was a waste of money for me, I tossed it along with the rest of the assembly. Culligan Faucet Filter The FM-15A faucet water filter is easy to install, works well, and has a robust construction. We tried the Brita and its plastic parts quickly broke. It leaked everywhere and dropped off the faucet spout several times. The attachment parts are weak. This one is steel where it counts and the water tastes great. It holds fast to the spout and has does not leak a drop anywhere. The automatic return to unfiltered water is unreliable, but its so easy to do it manually it is worth having for all its advantages. It costs less, too! I would buy this model again. Could Not Attach To My Price-Pfister Kitchen Faucet I gave this item a 3 star rating, because I believe I would have been happy with it if I could have used it. Unfortunately, I could not. I could not attach it to my Price-Pfister kitchen faucet. The fitting at the end of the faucet was much too small (or the fitting on the filter was much too large). The included adapters were useless and local plumbing and hardware supply stores did not have an adapter that would work. Based on my conversations with those more knowledgeable about plumbing than I, this is apparently more of a problem with the design of the faucet than with the design of the Culligan water filter. However, I thought it would be useful to warn others who might have a similar faucet design. When I ordered, I did not imagine it would be impossible to find an adapter that would allow me to attach the filter to the faucet. Good Filter - Doesn't Leak, Relatively Unobtrusive Got this a few weeks ago - installed in minutes. The water in my area has a moderately strong chlorine smell, and I was buying bottled water for drinking and cooking. Not anymore. Does what it claims to, no chlorine odor at all when I activate the filter. The water tastes a little flat straight from the filter-tap, but I found that when its chilled it tastes good enough to not every need to buy bottled water anymore at all. My coffee tastes a heck of a lot better, too, and Im glad for it. I also got the shower filter, and that works well too. Best Faucet Mounted Filter Under $20! Purchased this item to replace the PUR Faucet Filter. This Culligan filter surpasses the PUR model in design, filter life and ultimately water taste. Fits easy and securely to faucet No Leaks! Auto shutoff is very useful, good flow for a filter, Very satisfied with purchase, Only complaint is replacement filter costs nearly as much as entire unit. If price of replacement filter was more in the $5-8 range it would be perfect. And as usual Amazon rocks with lightning Shipping. You will not be disappointed with this unit. Sturdy, has lasted so far... I bought this as a replacement after becoming frustrated with the PUR faucet mount filter unit, which sprang several leaks in mysterious ways after just 4 months of use. I have owned this Culligan unit for 2 months now, and I am very pleased. My first impressions of the Culligan FM-15A are good. The unit is made of sturdy and dense plastic, and can handle the interior water pressure generated as water moves through the filter. I like the metal faucet mount as it is sturdy and maintains an aerated water flow of the un-filtered water for washing dishes. Unlike other users, I havent yet had a problem with the valve switch sticking in the on position - it continually returns to the off position once the water is turned off. The unit is also has a smooth plastic exterior, which is nice for easy cleaning should the exterior become dirty with normal use from food, dirty water, or dirty hands. The FM-15A improves the water quality noticeably for me in both taste and clarity. However, the water doesnt taste as fresh as it did from my former PUR filter. Im not sure, but I believe this difference is simply a matter of water aeration and not a reflection of the quality of the filtered water--the water exiting the Culligan FM-15A has a smooth laminar flow, as opposed to the PUR filter which had an additional aerator/sprayer for the filtered water. Ill update this review in a few months as to whether it outlasts my former PUR filter unit. Im hoping it does! Great Inexpensive water filter This water filter delivers good tasting water for a inexpensive price. It was easy to install and easy to use. I have tried several and this wins! Dont let anyone tell you that just because the others on the market are more expensive, that they are better! I have tried several of them, yet this one wins, hands down! So easy to install too. I am noooooo good at household stuff, but I had this mounted and running in about 8 minutes. In my rural town, our tap water has so much chlorine in it, its like drinking from a pool ... Ahhh, fresh water at last :) Thank you Culligan, and Amazon :) -Marie S. Northeastern USA Love It! I started my search with another brand of water filter, and was eventually led to this Culligan product. The positive reviews and low price here prompted me to purchase the filter. Installation was easier -- took me about 30 seconds. The water tastes MUCH better now. No leaks, no problem so far. The flow is slower now, but it is compensated by clean water that tastes good. best for the price. 4.5 Stars After much research and review, this product seemed to be the most reliable and effective for the price. I purchased the product. Installed it in seconds very very easily. The instructions said run for 20 minutes I did an hour. It took about 5 days to break in. Now the water is odor and metal-taste free. The cost and convenience to have clean drinking water and cooking water and not carry the gallons of bottled spring water.....is not even close with massive savings.. I bought a camelback BPA bottle and now drink more water than ever. The only downside is that the stream of water is somewhat slow. BUT with the metal fastener and button (reliable) the ease of installation, effective cleaning and removal of odor and the PRICE.....this is extremely hard to beat. The unit is also small enough as to not cause any issues at the sink. 4.5 stars You get what you pay for It was not rated by Consumer Reports but I decided to buy it anyway because of the $25+ price and I was tired of hauling the 3 gallon bottles of Glacier water (20 cent per gallon at the grocery store vending machine) up to my 2nd floor apartment. My ice cubes used to be clear but now they are cloudy. The water is ok in my morning coffee (battery acid probably would be too). I still buy the Glacier water (though less) for that cold glass of ice water that I take to bed every night. You get what you pay for. LOVE IT I got this because the price was so good and I wanted to try something on the faucet instead of the pitchers I always use. What a pleasant surprise. I put it on (without hubby!!!) in seconds. It has been a terrific addition to the kitchen. I have had no leaks from it, assembly on our weird faucet easy as pie... Small and the on-off valve is neat !! Still lovin it Ive had this filter for over a year and havent had to deal with water that tastes like chlorine since! Its easy to install and works great. The only reason I didnt give it the final star is because it will leak if not screwed on JUST RIGHT, but a few moments messing with it, and its golden. Its just two of us in our home now, so I only replace the filter every 3 instead of 2 months, when the water isnt looking as clear. So far so good! Nice product I came to this product from the Pur filters that after time begin leaking, I have had this product for about 2 months and so far have no issues. I love this water filter! I love my Culligan water filter. I did the taste test on Philadelphia water- the natives like to call it Schuykill Punch- after our river. (Skoo kill.) Anyway, it more than passed the taste test against my usual spring water. I bought a glass jug for the fridge. I am done with plastic bottles and unregulated water sources. I liked this filter so much, I decided to buy their showerhead filter. Im hoping it will improve my hair and skin. Great value, just buy it! Throw in some extras filters while your at it and save on shipping. Culligan Faucet Filter I have used this product for several years now and it has been very good. It is very easy to install and very easy to replace the filter when it is time, so easy my youngest son installed the latest one I bought. The only bad thing has been that the part that connects to the faucet does wear out after several years of use, but worth the price that I paid for it. Overall it is the best product for filtering your drinking water. Also Amazon has been the cheapest place that I have found to buy it. REALLY REDUCES TAP WATER TASTE!! Very very happy with the purchase. I do not taste any tap water-like taste in my water. If it really reduces all the chemicals it says it does, im only happier with the purchase. Goodbye, shoddy Pur; Hello, Culligan! After four years of decreasing quality on my constantly-being-replaced Pur filters, I came to Amazon and did a little research. These folks arent kidding. The Culligan filter installs--effortlessly--in seconds, and works better in every regard to the inferior Pur. Better design, more efficient, and cheaper too! My only regret is that I didnt find it sooner. Culligan faucet filter This is a very good water filter. It is very easy to install and everything needed was in the box. The only drawback is that it is slower than a counter top filter. It is great for1-2 people. Larger families should probably consider a counter top filter. I have had mine 1 month and it works great, takes any bad tastes out of city water. I recommend this product highly Cheap and Good Works better than the dupont water filter it replaced and cost less. Was very easy to install also. IT DOESN'T LEAK!!! I dont know why, but I went through THREE Pur faucet filters before finally chucking them in the garbage and buying this Culligan. The Pur filters were always leaking from the connectors. And if you tried to adjust them, youd end up stripping the plastic from the connector and being left with an unsightly, scraped up piece of plastic on your sink. And if you do manage to get the Pur filter off to try to repair the leak with plumbers tape, good luck getting the filter back on again. But the Culligans connector is made of metal (whereas both the filter housing and the connector of the Pur filter was made of plastic), so its easy to get the Culligan filter on and off the sink without any leaking whatsoever! I also love how easy it is to replace the filters! Just a twist of the fingers and it comes right out. I once got a deep cut from replacing a Pur filter where the edge of the cap sliced right into my hand while I was twisting it off, since there were no finger grips to hold onto. The Culligan is also nice b/c it doesnt sit as low as the Pur filter, so you can put tall bottles or water pitchers under it with more ease. And the quality of the filter and the taste of the water is the same, if not better than the Pur filter. My main complaint against the Culligan is that it doesnt have an indicator to show you when to change the filter; they tell you just to mark it on your calendar, when to change the filter next. One last hesitation I had about switching over was the fact that I didnt see replacement Culligan filters readily available in the stores. Pur replacement filters are sold in bulk at Target and my local warehouse store. But once, when Amazon was running a buy 1, get 1 half off sale on the Culligan filters, I saw that buying them one by one on Amazon.com was STILL cheaper than buying the Pur filters in bulk at the warehouse store. Add to that the fact that the Culligan filter is cheaper to begin with and you wont have to waste money replacing it periodically when it breaks down and you just have a product that makes good "dollars and sense". better watter The Culligan FM-15A Faucet Filter was easy to install, is convenient to use, and shuts off automatically when water is turned off. I really like the fact that our water, coffee, and tea pots stay much cleaner now with a lot less build-up since weve been using this filter. Also, I feel much safer in drinking the water than I did before. Its priced right too! Will not fit faucet Like other reviewers the Culligan filter will not attach to any faucet in my house. I went to a very large hardware store, Elliots in Dallas, and they were unable to find any conversion piece that will make this filter fit my faucet. I have totally wasted my time with this product so I think one star is generous. And since others have made the same comment I would think that Culligan would pack some conversion attachments in the box since this seems to be a recurring problem. Best product Love it. Did a lot of research to get the mostest for the leastest. This is it. best filtering for the lowest cost per gallon. Also i find it more convenient than a pitcher type of water filter. Price Pfister Don't fit, and water pressure is very slow. Not only does this not fit Price Pfister but I had to purchase a new faucet because the back pressure caused my fixture to leak. I went and purchased a nice faucet (so much for saving money on my bottled water bill) but I get it home and it wont fit. I did get good customer service from Culligan who suggested I take both parts to the plumbing store and get an adapter on my own. So Im sure Ill get it fixed. Not quite as pleased as I thought I would be, but it's OK My husband wanted to get away from filter pitchers, so we bought the Culligan faucet-mount filter. I purchased it, based on reviews that said the metal connector was sturdier than the plastic connectors used for Brita and Pur. We use that same faucet for a garden hose, so I knew the connector would be put to the test. So far, the connector has done well. However, we do have the same problem mentioned by a couple of other reviewers: the water flow is very slow. Perhaps it is because we live on the top floor of an 11-story building, but it annoys my husband. Ive learned to set my container under the filter and let it fill while I do other things, so I can work with it. It is significantly slower than just the plain faucet, though. We also thought the water tasted a little funny and had a slightly funny mouth-feel the first day or so, but I think weve gotten used to that. My main issue with city water is the amount of chlorine and this filter does remove that for me. Great This water filter is exactly what we needed... clean water without the minerals removed. Thanks! Faucet Mount Filter Easy to install - no tools needed. Works great with no leakage a month later. Very good deal. Cheaper than bottled water I use this filter in a mobile home that I have in a campground. The well water has some off flavors (iron mainly), and this really improves the taste of the water. I install a new filter in the spring and it is used weekends when were at the campground, a six month season. This appears to be a replacement for a unit that GE made under the Smart Water brand for several years - which is what I used previously. Good Clean Water I filter all tap water consumed in my home and generally use a Brita pitcher to do so. Alas, I figured I would give the Culligan FM-15A Faucet Filter a try and I am glad I did. The device is easy to install and after running it a mere ten minutes, I was ready to fill my water bottles and drink. Personally, I find nothing offensive about the taste of the water that comes out of this filter. In fact, it tastes downright good. This is an item I will never be without. It seems to function as advertised The filter improves the taste of some nasty city water; however, it does not make it taste like mountain spring water. However, I would say that it is a good product for the money. I have only had it installed for two weeks. Culligan Water Filter Positives: Removed the funny taste from the tap water. Pretty easy to install. Not that expensive, but I wouldnt say its priced cheap either for what it is. Negatives: Gets in the way. Decreases sink vertical air space by 2 inches. Looks bad. Slows down water flow considerably. Not worth even the small cost I also have had trouble with the PUR faucet filters. I had the first one for a very long time and after that, Ive bought 3 of them in less than a year and theyve all started leaking, spraying water all over. I ordered and just received this Culligan unit and while I love the size and all that, it does not filter the water. My water has the same strong chlorine taste thru the filter that it has coming straight out of the faucet not filtered. Broken Record...Yes! In the past year I have been using a Brita and Pur filter. They both broke or started leaking within a few months. My last Brita one completely fell off the faucet, the plastic threads had stripped. I guess I have good water pressure. Anyhow, I bought the Culligan based on reviews here, and I am glad I did. Compact, sturdy, great filtering (almost no taste at all), less expensive (including the replacement filters), etc. Great product, outstanding value. Water Filter Very easy to install and the price is inexpensive. Seems sturdy enough but time will tell how long it lasts since I use it constantly. great filter This filter seems to hold up better than Pur, and the taste is just as good. I would recommend this over Pur any day. very easy to install, but slow flow im satisfied with my purchase. The only negative is that the flow of the filtered water is slow, so that I often let the cup fill up and do some other stuff. Better than Brita! What can I say? Great build quality & good tasting water. After using Brita filters for a number of years I became sick of replacing them when they started to leak. The Culligan unit is metal construction and has a 200-gallon filter. After some calculations Ive determined that a once a year replacement is all that is needed for the filter cartridge. That means alot of $$$ saved over the Brita unit. Not impressed I *really* wanted this water filter to be good, but I am not impressed. It was easy to install and seems to be well made (thus the three star rating), but I cant tell a lot of difference in the filtered and unfiltered water. I will use it to water my plants and perhaps make coffee, but as for drinking water, Im still looking for a filter that will give me that crisp clean taste. Easy to install We purchased the Culligan filter system because we have well water. This works great to filter out calcium deposits, etc. Very easy to install, great price. My only complaint is the water comes out sooo slow. But patience is a virtue they say. Overall a good product. Faucet Filter This is a great faucet filter, especially for the price. It take up less space than others we have used, and it swivels around, too. I like it that it automatically returns to unfiltered mode when you turn off the water. It does a nice job- the filtered water has made our home-brewed coffee and tea delicious. Easy to set up, easy to use! I have owned this for about 2 months. I dont have anything to compare this to as this is the firs filter I have bought. Seems to work well to me. Water has a slightly "fresher" taste to it. This filter is well built, easy to attach to the faucet, and doesnt leak. Switching from non-filtered to filtered water is simple-just pull the knob. This filter and an extra cartridge for under $25 is a tough deal to beat. Took some effort, but well worth it I was about to return this filter because the aerator on my faucet would not come off. After using every tool I had at home, I made a trip to home depot and bought a set of vise grips which got the job done. After this first step, the installation was simple and uneventful and did not require any tools. After running water through the filter for 10 mins, I was able to taste good, clear water. I cant attest to durability yet, but the casing looks hardy and I do not expext any trouble. done with Brita and PUR I looked around for a better water filter after Id had two each Brita and PUR filters eventually lose seal and spray water on us when in use. I bought the Culligan after reading the reviews here. It works, the others dont. It is better designed. That is all you really need to know. Not Happy I followed the directions, let the water run for 10 minutes before using, filled up the bottle. Originally tried the water and it tasted fine, thought I found a great solution from buying delivered water. Especially since the two companies that deliver in my area get their water from the town I live in and is the same water that comes out of the tap. The problem was after a day or two it had a metalic taste to it. At first it did not bother me but after a couple of days i gave up. Everythign we made with the water had the same taste. I went ahead and cleared out my dispenser put a new bottle that i purchased and tried it. It also had the metal taste for the first couple of days now it is fine. Unfortunately i did not save the box to return it. Good Filter Purchased this about a month ago and I am very pleased so far. Very simple to install and use. Much smaller than most other faucet mounted filters and is flexible in the positioning of the actual filter housing. Water has a "pure" taste and with my savings on bottled water this has most likely already paid for itself. One slight downside is that the replacment filters, at least in my area, are not easily found but you can always get on line. Fantastic product Better than anything Ive tried before. Simple to install and the water (from our well) comes out completely clear and free of any funny taste. Every so often a product that delivers at a reasonable cost comes along, and this is one of them. Works flawlessly Due to some plumbing changes the tap water at my place turned very "chloriny", suddenly. I needed a water filter badly. I looked at the reviews and decided to buy this one over the more famous brands. I couldnt get the Culligan at any of the supermarkets near my place. So, I bought some bottled water for a few days and ordered this from Amazon. Installation was a breeze. It fit my faucet perfectly and no leaks. After letting the water for about 20 secs, I tasted. Its not great like spring water but its perfectly acceptable. I dont see any degradation over the tap water I was getting before it became chlorinated. The default mode is no filtering and the valve stem automatically switches back when you turn off the water - love this feature. I am very happy with this purchase. The Best Faucet-Mounted Water Filter While each of the three national brands of faucet-mounted water filters has its own unique features, the overriding consideration of quality is whether or not the filter actually *stays* attached to the faucet. This Culligan model does, whereas both the Brita and the Pur did not. I have an externally threaded faucet so it doesnt require an adapter. Nevertheless, I had the same problem with the device falling off that others attributed to the adapters. No matter how tightly I screwed the filter onto the tap or how cautious I was when turning the thing on and off, it always came loose. Theres nothing more annoying than turning on the tap and having the filter blast off, scaring the heck out of me, nearly missing my face and soaking me with spray. This happened several times, most recently with the Brita, which I finally just gave up on and threw in the trash. Then, having read the reviews here on Amazon, I bought the Culligan. Unlike the Pur and the Brita, which are all plastic, the Culligan has a metal ring that attaches to the faucet. Its easy to screw on and it stays put. And heres the kicker -- it costs *half* the price of the others and its replacement filters are cheaper! I do wish that Culligan offered its filter in chrome rather than only white, but I can certainly live with the white given Culligans quality and the price. Plus, its guaranteed for two years. My advice -- skip all the aggravation with the other brands and buy a Culligan. FINALLY a great faucet filter! Really loving this filter. So glad I found the other positive reviews of this one on Amazon. It is SO MUCH BETTER than the Brita On-Tap filter we were using before. Very easy to install, no annoying dial that eventually needs pliers to turn, no water spraying all over the counter (and you) . . . just an excellent, cost-effective product. Could not be more pleased! Really easy to install This faucet filter was so easy to install, works perfectly and is well constructed. I am now very happy with the taste of the water from the very old pipes in my apartment. Shoulda shouted "Hey, Culligan Man!" sooner. I was a loyal PUR user until Procter & Gambles greed destroyed what was once a great product. P&Gs relentless downgrading of PURs quality is driving customers away while the reviews for Britas faucet-mount filters are only slightly less scathing. The common problem: planned obsolescence of that connection to the faucet. Unless its made from high-grade thermoplastic or metal, the faucet connection will become hard and brittle as hot water passes through. Cracks develop, leaks begin to spring and in worst-case situations, the whole thing blows off while filling the sink to do the dishes. Seems both Brita and PUR are guilty of this cost-cutting measure. Culligans faucet filter features a metal connection. Unlike PUR and Brita, the Culligans replacement cartridge is the entire filtering system, so when you replace the cartridge, you dont have to worry about filtered water passing through an opening thats difficult or impossible to keep clean. You even get a fresh undamaged O-ring on each new filter, so theres even less likelihood of leaks. The filtered water has the slight tang of spring water, though this might only be because the true taste was masked by the impurities removed. The taste is enhanced by chilling. The filter switches back to plain water automatically, so youre less likely to run hot water through the filter and render it useless. I was going to withhold a star because the Culligan lacks a filter life monitor like the PUR and some Brita models, but knowing that this one will probably outlast several cartridge replacements, Im happy to give it all five. Ill just stick the sticker on the calendar and get on with life. Took a chance, and it paid off. Great little filter. Brita is a huge disappointment the connection to the faucet is made of plastic and within a month it was leaking, and at the end of 2 months it was spraying all over. Took a chance and bought the Culligan, and surprise! It works PERFECTLY. SO what if it isnt pretty. It works so much better than all the others that we have tried. And for 1/2 the price too. For the price of just a replacement filter for Brita I purchased both this unit and a replacement filter. I am so pleased with this purchase! Don't bother with Brita or PUR -- GET THIS WATER FILTER! The biggest benefit of the Culligan faucet-mounted filter is that the hardware is METAL. The problem with both the Brita (we tried 4 of them) and the PUR (my sister has tried 3) is that the hardware is plastic -- thus not hard at all! It strips very easily. Also, the Brita leaked all over the place, and the leaks only got worse. This one is more durable and smaller, and it switches back to regular tap water when you turn off the water -- so convenient! The water tastes great, and the replacement filters work wonderfully and dont cost an arm and a leg. Hands down, by far the best faucet-mounted water filtering system. Great Product Great product! Inexpensive, easy to install and use. I bought this based on other user reviews and I am so glad I did. Water tastes great. Highly recommended. Dont hesitate to buy this product. Faucet filter that delivers The Culligan FM-15A Faucet Filter is easy to install and seems to be well made. It is superior to the Brita we were using. My wife had been pressing for a new filter for a long time. My purchase pleased her and may extend our marriage indefinitely. Filtering water is refreshing, but filtering a relationship is everlasting! the product keeps falling down Used the product for 2 weeks and then it couldnt stay on the facet and kept falling down. so I had to stop using it. It works but... Ill be quick: - the unit is easy to install but not easy to remove - Ive tasted better water from other filters - the pressure for unfiltered water is reduced, stays the same no matter what the inflowing pressure is and there is nothing you can do to adjust it - the filtered water pressure is not much more than a trickle I will try a Brita unit instead. Great filter...Great price! I have been using the filter for 1 month and am very happy with the water quality. The filter took only minutes to install and I have had no leaks or drips. In just the first month I have been using it, it has more than paid for itself in the money I have saved from not having to buy bottled water. Supplied Adapter For Faucet Connection Causes Leaks We have a Delta Kitchen faucet in good condition and installation of the supplied adapter and attachment resulted in leakage above filter at the adapter. Tightened carefully, untightened and retightened several times in seeking to close the leak. Was unsuccessful. Pressure of water channeled through the the unit even when filtering element was "off" was insufficient to wash dishes effectively. Followed all OEM directions to the "T". Not a good experience. Solid but slow Ive bought just about every faucet filter out there and this is the only one that did not leak, crack or fall apart but you will spend considerable time waiting for your filtered water. I think the main reason is that it is so slow that there isnt enough pressure going through the system to cause the problems that other filters have. I use the filter for my dogs water as well as for myself and when I need to fill up their dog bowl I can literally leave the water to run and go do other things while it fills up. I personally would rather get on with my life so I tossed the Culligan filter and am back to using the Brita filter. So far it hasnt had any problems and it flows at least 3-4 times faster than the Culligan filter. For the price of these filters Id rather toss one that cracks after six months and get another rather than have a reliable one that takes forever to fill up a glass. A snap to install. I bought this after reading the reviews that this was a more solid product than Pur or Brita. I have had both Pur and Brita faucet-mounted water purifiers and both were junk. I began by unscrewing my old Pur that started springing leaks after 1.5 years. It was almost comical how everytime I rotated it down for filtered water, a small leak in the how much is left window would shoot a small stream of water at me. I Threw it away. I held the new Culligan in my hands. Its not pretty, but it felt robust and it is more metal than plastic. The directions advised not to use pliers, so I screwed it on to finger tight, and turned it on. The Pur and the Brita both leaked on the first try, and it took several turns with pliers to get them mostly leak-free, so I was expecting the same out of the Culligan. I was amazed when the culligan did not leak! First try, finger tight only. I was planning on a 20-minute install, it literally took 2 minutes. The taste is fresh and clean. Bless you, Culligan man. broke after 2 months Bought this in the middle of January and it is now April first a it is blowing water out the side. To late to return and no info on how to get Culligan to replace it. This filter rocks! My Pur filter broke off the faucet when I was trying to figure out why it was leaking so much. Plastic fittings. So I was off to the internet to search for a water filter replacement. I came across the Culligan filter and did some research to see if it would do the job and it seemed to rate well enough. The price was awesome compared with the competition. No, it doesnt have the flashing light to tell you its close to being toast--you track it on your calendar (or, Id imagine it gets slower and slower as it ages too). Anyway, the fact that its compact and has METAL FITTINGS to the faucet both are big pluses for me. The waters great (my last couple of Pur filters had been giving me stale water for some reason, too) and the flow rates not half bad either. Bottom line, I totally recommend it! Very Solid Purchase The Good: 1)Easy to install; 2)Water tastes very good; 3)Inexpensive and lasts for 200 gallons 4)Toggle that allows you to use your regular faucet when not getting a drink The Bad 1) None so far My only slightly negative comment is that the stream that flows through the filter is slow. However, thats the compromise you have to give if you want #4 in the good list. Does it's job well! I purchased this from Amazon and arrived on my doorstep with no sshipping issues. Opened the box and installed it within 10 minutes. It operates well and filters well. Ive researched this versus Brita and Pur and can will agree that the metal faucet attachment on this unit is a more durable design than the latter. The best part is that it is half the cost of its competitors! Well worth the money in my opinion! Great faucet filter Ive had a Pur faucet filter for years, which I had to replace every couple of years because it cracks at the point that it connects to the faucet. This Cullicgan faucet filter is a much better connection design and is more compact. Love it!! Good filter, but... Even though this is a good filter for the price I have experienced that after the first few days of use, the diverter valve stem that switches from unfiltered water to filtered water that was supposed to go back to unfiltered water by itself when the faucet is closed, is not working any more. I have to manually pull and push the valve stem to switch from one to another. As a matter of fact this is not a big deal for me but if you have more than a few family members, you have to educate them about the issue that way the filtered water doesnt keep running when unnecessary. This is the first Culligan FM-15A Faucet Filter that I have had and I am thinking of keeping it until it dies. After that, I might consider another alternative. I hope my review will help you make a good decision. Good luck! Works well, but a few things worth mentioning I gave this four stars because it filters water really well (although our water is pretty good; we got it mainly to remove the chlorine taste). It was easy to install, and didnt take any tools. The few mild issues I have: 1) the diverter valve, which is is off by default, sometimes doesnt return to Off when the water is shut off, alhtough it seems to be getting a little better over time; 2) it has changed the non-filtered water pressure coming out of the faucet for regular (non-filtered) use -- it is much less powerful now, and not fully aerated, I assume because the diverter mechanism just physically blocks so much of the water from moving through. Were considering moving it to a non-kitchen faucet and just filling up water jugs to keep in the fridge. I would imagine this is an issue for all water filters that use a diverter. Well worth it I bought this item based on the many positive reviews here, and 5 weeks into using it, I have not been disappointed. The unit is compact, sturdy, easy to install, and a snap to operate. It automatically converts back to the tap setting when you turn off the water, alleviating the risk of accidentally running hot water through the filter. No other units I researched had this feature. The taste of the filtered water is a big improvement over tap quality (although not quite as tasty as water from grocery store purifiers), and its great not having to lug around 5-gallon jugs anymore. Tried the Pur, tried the Brita, this is the one you want We live in the developing world and need a filter to remove microbes. We started with the Britas sink-faucet model, it was awful. We then tried PUR, better, but still cheap and a short term fix at best. The Culligan is BY FAR the best of the bunch. Clearly better quality. It was like going from a Suzuki Samurai to a BMW 3-series. Weve had ours over a year with no problems at all. The very few negative reviews of this model reflect displeasure w/ the type of filter design, not this specific model. Or perhaps that the filter replacements arent available at Home Depot/Lowes. (Amazon stocks them on the cheap). If you want something to toss on your sink faucet that is dependable, this is the one you want. Clean tasting water - wife approved too! After losing our jobs my wife and I were looking at cutting expenses here and there. 78 - 99 cents a gallon does add up week after week....so I decided to get this little gadget. My wife wasnt happy since she didnt like the PUR/Brita cheap plastic ones we had in the past and she wanted to stick with bottled water and pay the price. I laughed and told her OOOOOPS - I already ordered the Culligan filter at Amazon. In a nutshell, the Culligan was delivered to us and she saw that it wasnt built cheap like the other products and didnt take up as much space. I did need to make a run to Home Depot to get a adapter for our strange sized new faucet (which didnt work for the other water filters either) - but that was super easy as was the installation of the Culligan unit. Water taste great and the wife is happy with the purchase plus and $$$$ savings at the grocery store. The good reviews on Amazon plus Consumer Reports excellent ratings for Culligan made it comfortable purchasing this item. Thank you Amazon shoppers! Functional fairly priced great filter Easy setup, nice auto switch feature when faucet is shut off. Water tastes great. Used a PUR filter for a year before this. Seal broke on that, and after we moved I decided to try something new. It does what its supposed to, replacement filters are cheap compared to others. I would recommend. A+ quality and great value This water filter works great and purifies water making it taste just like spring water, or better. This purifier saved us a fortune that we were spending before when we were buying spring water in containers every week. Our life became so much easier with this new purifier! It is a great buy with A+ quality. Culligan FM-15 water filter After researching reviews on water faucet filters, I chose Culligan because it seemed like the best bang for the buck. This is the first water filter I have ever purchased. My boyfriend installed it for me in less than a minute and we ran the filter for 10 minutes as instructed. He and I are really picky about our water so we were both a little skeptical about trying it at first. After taking our first sip, we were surprised that the water did not taste bad at all. The only con that I have is that there is no filter replacement indicator and the water pressure for the non-filtered water is somewhat lower. A great product, nonetheless. Well made and workes great. I bought a Brita filter on clearance. The adaptors were made out of plastic and many times when using the filter it would blow off, shooting water all over. It was upsetting when it happened to me and funny when it happened to my wife. I read the reviews on Amazon and ordered this filter. The adapter is made out of metal as well as the part of the filter that screws on to the faucet. It is well make and works great. Perfect simple filter We finally decided to go green and quit buying single use bottled water and try a tap filter. I was scared as I love my Fiji water but I was very pleasantly surprised with the culligan. We love this thing! Its super simple to use and install, takes up minimal space and most importantly the water tastes great! I really like that the default position of the filter is "off" so I cant forget to turn it back. Its not as fancy as the pur filter or the britta filter but too me those look better than they work. The replacement filters are also about 50% less than both the pur and britta a huge plus for overall cost. You cant go wrong with this filter I am very happy with it. Filter leaks I installed the filter but it leaks from under the valve that has to be pulled for filteration. The water sprayed all over. Looked like the filter was broken. I called culligan and they said there is a $134 charge for somebody coming over and looking at it. Else they asked me to call amazon itself! Much better than those you get at local stores! Weve been through several of these (Dupont and Pur brands to be specific) that split on us within a short time. Not being hard on these items and only myself and my husband using it, youd think they would have lasted longer. Looking at the reviews on Amazon for this filter, I was hopeful. Its been wonderful to have one that works this well with filters that are easy to change. You can swing it out of the way if you have a large item to place in your sink. To filter water, just pull the little tab out and water comes through the filter. The filtering tab automatically shuts off when the water is turned off. Filters need to be replaced every 2 months but its so easy to do. We are very pleased with this unit! Very Satisfied I am very happy with this product. Installation was easy and my water tastes great now. I definitely recommend it. Great value!!! Great tasting water!!! I had decided to buy this product after doing some research on the other water filter products out there. I have previously owned a PUR water filter and this water filter by far out performs that filter. The water tastes great, it has an economical cost and the design ensures youre not wasting filtered water. If you are thinking about purchasing a filter that mounts to your faucet, this is definitely the one to get!!!Culligan FM-15A Faucet FilterCulligan FM-15A Faucet Filter Nice Faucet Filter Very easy to install. The water pressure is very low for the filtered water, but I guess that is to be expected. Nice alternative to Brita and Pur. good at taking chorine and lead out of water. Looking at NSF standard for water treatment, this product is the best for the money. Filter The Faucet This is the mostest, rockinest, a**-kickinest filter ever. OK, this is the ONLY filter Ive ever bought, but its pretty cool. All the other reviews were right. Installs in a jiffy, doesnt leak, and filters water, or at least I guess it does. Im still alive, so thats gotta mean its workin, right? A great product for the $ and I would purchase again. Oh, and it reminds me of the old "Hey Culligan man" commercials every time I use it which is a nifty little added bonus, for no extra charge! want fit every faucet i waited for this filter in got it homw and it wouldnt even fit at all. none of the attachments would make it fit either so i return it worth the wait! My husband and I thought to give this faucet filter a shot after our brand new Brita one broke the moment we tried fastening it to the sink. The Culligan model is amazing! Unlike the Brita filter, the Culligan one has a metal fastener, which attaches to the sink. No problems, no leaks, and great tasting clean water. Its WELL worth the wait to order the Culligan filter- which is much smaller, too- over any cheap, plastic system. Buy it! Best deal for the price Very good deal for the price. It was very easy to install and very easy to use. It has a little knob you pull out to go from tap water to filtered. And after you turn off the faucet, the knob goes back in, so you never forget to turn it back to tap. Its a bit large, gets in the way at times. But they all do, and this one, I think, is smaller or average compared to others. Only color option is white, but doesnt look bad as all my appliances are white. Ive been using it for almost a month and am very happy with it. I was nervous at first as the water color was cloudy, but after reading the instructions, you need to run water through the filter for at least 10min, then water was clear. Water tastes good too. Awesome! Like another reviewer, we went through two of the Brita faucet-mounted filter systems. They last maybe a year before they break down and fail. So after searching on Amazon.com and reading a lot of reviews, I selected the Culligan FM-15A. What I found written about this filter is true - this is the best faucet-mounted filter system around. The metal coupling system is well made and provides a tight installation. If you are using the filtered water function and shut off the water, the filter reverts back to unfiltered mode, which was always a problem with the Brita system. And on top of that, the water tastes great! This is the only faucet-based filtration system you should consider! Perfect! When the price of a 1.5L of Volvic water hit $3.25 a couple of months back it was time to take action. After having tried a Pur once about year ago(a real piece of junk) and witnessed a friend "Mickey Mousing" around with a Brita tank I was about to pop for a $300 system another friend has and loves but figured Id give this a chance. One of my best decisions ever. Its solidly built unlike the Pur and a lot more user friendly than the Brita. The water tastes every bit as good/pure as my friends expensive carbon based system and since we live in the same building its a fair comparative situation. Small form factor, solid unit, great price, and good taste I have only owned this product a week, but I bought it as a replacement to the PUR faucet-mount filter that I owned. Although I liked the PUR 3-stage filters, the PUR system started leaking within 6-months of purchasing, although not nearly as bad as the newer horizontal mount units that are getting some bad reviews on Amazon. PROS: This unit, although not necessarily designed with style in mind, does seem be be a fairly good quality product. I like the pull-out tab that disengages when the faucet is turned off. I like the small form factor. I like how the water tastes, which is very close to what PUR 3-stage filters produced. The water flows through the filter unit at a decent rate, although it is nothing to brag about. CONS: After mounting the unit, Ive noticed that the unfiltered water output pressure is probably half what it was before I put it on. I dont know exactly what is doing this, but I have noticed that the unfiltered water seems to be aerated quite heavily, which could be the source of the lower pressure. The filters last only two months, with no indicator of filter life left. However, my opinion of those filter indicators for most of these faucet-mount systems is that they are unreliable. Just view the complaints about the Brita faucet-mount systems that indicate that theyve gone bad 4 times sooner than they should. All I do is enter the change date in my gmail calendar, with an email notification of when it needs to be changed. Improves Taste, but not much I purchased this after spending hundreds of dollars on bottled water last year. Have been using it for about 20 days now, and I must say it is almost as good tasting as bottled water (from Target or Safeway). Its still not as great tasting as Aquafina (my favorite), but is pretty close. It removes the hardness quite effectively and the design is pretty clever (you cannot waster water because of the knob). This is a much smarter investment than those Brita pitchers that are a pain to refill every few hours. This will encourage you to drink more water every day and that is a good thing, right? The price is right, the product was very easy to install (no tools required). Looks sturdy and elegant. Easy to install, easy to use This is a great product at a really good price. No leaking or dripping and the water tastes good! Installation took about 1 minute plus 10 to remove particles from filter! Better than the Pur filter! Some people would consider me a water snob, but I cant drink tap water. First, I tried buying a cooler and some water bottles and refilling them at my local Rite Aid, but that got really annoying really soon. Then, I had water delivered to my house, but then I was paying more than $50 a month! So, I opted for the water filter. I bought a Pur water filter. It worked great (great!) for the first few months, but after I replaced the cartridge, the filter started leaking. Im not the only one, read the reviews. So, I looked and looked, and all faucet filters (Pur, Brita) had leaking problems. So, I tried the Culligan (cheap, recognizable brand name). It didnt disappoint. Water tastes great, and it has a cheap replacement cartridge. Best of all, no leaks!!!! Only drawback: Pur and Brita let you know when you need to replace the cartridge by flashing a red light. Culligans cartridge "has" to be replaced every two months, and you dont know if it actually needs to be replaced sooner or later. Other than that, fantastic filter. CULLIGAN FM 15A FAUCET FILTER WE NOW HAVE FOUND SOMETHING TO CHANGE THE TASTE OF OUR WATER. IT IS WONDERFUL. Simple & easy This is, by far, the most reasonably priced filter that Ive seen. It was extremely easy to install. I did it myself & did not have to use any tools. I only had to have my husband twist it on a little tighter because it leaked a little, at first, after I put it on. Ive had it for a month, now, & no problems. We live near a lead plant & have always bought bottled water for ourselves, feeling that the tap water may not be safe. I was concerned about our two dogs drinking the water from the faucet, so I decided to invest in a filter. Now, we feel more comfortable drinking the tap water & will be saving even more money since we no longer need bottled water. Beats all competition! Weve tried both Brita and Pur faucet mounted filters. Neither company makes a quality product in this catagory, nor offers them at a reasonable price. This Culligan filter was a refreshingly quality product. We are actually very happy with it. It comes with a metal (not plastic!) faucet adaptor that attached securely, something weve had a problem with in the past. The filter capacity is 200 gallons, more than other brands offer. While there is no gauge to measure filter life, my experience is that those gauges are prone to breaking. You can tell easily by the flow rate when a filter needs replacement. These replacement filters are reasonably priced. Love it! Great Product The filter arrived promptly and installation was very simple--just twist on. The filtered water is wet, cold, and tasteless--the perfect combination. I was surprised by the very sturdy construction; as shown in the picture the faucet connector is made of metal, much better than the flimsy (and eventually, leaky) plastic connectors most other brands use. To receive filtered water you only have to pull the little pin out a little and it changes the water flow to go through the filter. When youre done you simply turn the water off and the pin automatically changes the water flow back to unfiltered, preventing you from using up your filter when you dont mean to. In short, Im very satisfied with this product. Cleaned my pipes well!! My town is currently going through upgrades to most of the water mains around my house. This has caused our water to take on a horrible chlorine like smell and sour taste. The water department told us that it is just the residual ......(they never explained what the residual is!!) and that the smell and taste would be gne within a few days. After a full week and living off of bottled water, I decided to give this faucet water filter a try due to its low price. I got the filter and had it installed in under 30 seconds. For me, that is huge as I am petrified of anything plumbing related. For anyone with modern plumbing this filter just screws on to your existing faucet with no tools necessary. If you have an older faucet, this comes with multiple attachments that are supposed to fit most other connections. I cant comment on that as mine went on without needeing them. Once it is installed you need to run the water for about 10 minutes or so to completely clean out the filter and then you are ready to go. To activate the filter you need to pull out the metal tab. Once the water is shut off, the tab automatically returns to its closed position so the filter is shut off. The water will automatically run through the normal faucet until you pull the tab agin for filtered water. After my filter was "cleaned" I filled to glasses with water. One from the unfiltered tap and one from the filter. The unfiltered water had the horrible chlorine smell and sour taste(and waht appeared to be a lot of sediments). The filtered water had zero smell, no sediments and tasted, well...didnt really have a taste at all. Just plain water which is what I expect from my water! So far, I am very happy with this filter. I will post back once I need to change out the filter (2 months or 200 gallons) to give an update if I have any problems. But for now, the price cant be beat to get great tasting and clean water from my tap. And I am happy I dont have to spend $1 or more per gallon for water at the market which, in my opinion, is no better than most tap water. Aaaaaah, agua! * Relatively cheap water filter. * Easy to install. * Design allows for actual filter to NOT get in the way when doing dishes. * Filtering water falls faster that purs. * Water tastes...well, tasteless! =) Very Happy Here! Great Product! I am so pleased with this filter. So easy to put on! Only took me a couple of minutes. It works like a charm. What a difference in the water quality! . I really recommend it. My fifth and best faucet filter. So far, its the best faucet filter Ive found and I have been using them for about twenty years. Water-Pik, Pure, and one other I cant remember. Good filtered water flow, easy install, good taste The product has good water flow compared to Brita Ive had before. The install was easy and most importantly it has a clean taste. Also the assemblage didnt leak. I would recommend to others. Only Con: Filter needs to be replaced every two months but thats not too impractical. Great price and works well! After going through several Pur faucet filters that would unexpectedly spring a leak, I decided to give this Culligan a try and so far we love it! Pros: - Good price compared to Pur or Brita - Filter automatically reverts to off position when water is turned off - Very easy installation - Filter is small and takes up less space around the sink Cons: - Does not have built-in indicator for filter replacements To me, the taste has been fine - the water tastes like water, just as it should! Overall, very highly recommended! I LOVE IT!!! I will never buy another Pur or Brita filter again! This was SO easy to install, and I have had no problems with it. The water tastes so pure and clean. That says a lot because the quality of water where I live is horrible. The ONLY downside to it is there is no filter life indicator, so you have to mark a date on your calendar so you know when to change it. Its very compact unlike the Pur and Brita it does not get in my way. And its a fraction of the price! Water Filter This is the only on Faucet filter that would stay on my sink faucet. None of the plastic one will. This thing actually works!! Quick and easy to install, does not leak, does not break down after 4 months and has a good water filter, replacemen filters reasonably priced. Have had many similar water filters but none have performed anywhere close to this. Most (i.e.,Britas barely even last four months). This Culligan leaves all competitors in the dust. Easy to use, easy to install, works great and a great price! I thought Id try this filter based on what others had said in these reviews. I was completely surprised and thrilled to find that this product met my expectations. I too have tried Brita and Pur with similar results to what others had mentioned here. The Culligan filter works as promised producing great tasting water at a price that fits my budget! No complaints! Why didn't I buy this sooner?! Like some other reviewers, I have tried both brands of faucet filters commonly available in the box stores. They both inevitable break or leak and are expensive to maintain. This filter is much sturdier. The faucet fitting is metal, which makes a big difference in longevity. I also really like the auto shut off feature. The water stream is smooth and gentle, unlike other filters I have tried which spray and sometimes splash out of the sink. The replacement filters are half as expensive and last twice as long! The only thing I miss about the other brands is this filter has no indicator light telling you when to replace the filter. Works Great I was already using the Culligan shower filter and I am just as pleased with this filter. I feel safer about using my tap water now. Very easy installation and also easy filter removal for replacement. IT'S TOO EASY! I love this filter. So easy to esemble, no tools required took under one minute to complete. Nice idea, but poor longevity I bought this about a month ago because my apartment has lead pipes and this is one of the best values in filters certified to remove lead. The filter is activated by pulling a small metal knob. When you turn off the water, the filter is supposed to automatically deactivate itself. This feature broke within 2 weeks of use. Its annoying and more importantly increases the potential for damage to the filter when you forget that its still switched on and run hot water through it (water over ~105 F will permanently damage the filter cartridge). Culligan FM-15A filter I accidentally purchased the new faucet attachment when I was looking for a replacement filter for my old one. I am glad I did! The FM-15A does a great job of filtering out chlorine and it allows water to flow much faster than the FM-15 I previously had installed. Great filter for the money! Works great! Hasnt broken yet, which is always a plus. Ive tried Brita faucet mounts and Pur faucet mounts and both of those broke. Then I moved on to a GE faucet mount, which worked great, but I had trouble finding the filter replacement cartridges so, I decided to go with a new brand. The Culligans is very similar to my old GE. IT worked for me so far just testing the filter life now I agree with the last poster 100% works great what I like is you can adjust it to the left / right or anywhere to 180 degrees of the faucet head and the tap water comes out the same spot . I like mine to the far right so I dont lose any sink room . I was worried about that . The water is pure . I drink bottled water normally this tasted better no plastic ..just wonderful . I needed clean water for a humidifier . I was able to put this on the second bathroom faucet . I love it . I hated rinsing after brushing my teeth with the well water but the filter water is top quality . My only worry is filters wont last long with my well contaninents , rust , pete , calcium ,,However it works great after the instal . I did take chanel locks and give it a quarter turn past finger tight to get it to seal tight . I wouldnt tighten it anymore but my fingers are weak a strong grip could instal it with no tools . Thanks so much for being enthusiastic for you that liked this and getting me to try it . I cant believe I have used those pitchers when this is so easy . Its right there where I need clean drinking water in the bathroom in small quanities yet I can wash my hands and use the sink with the well water when I want to also saving the filter . Its great just pull the plunger when you want drinking or clear water otherwise it gives you the tap water . I cant believe i lived here 16 years without this ;-( . Oh well I used cheap throw away razors for 20 years before i figured out more expensive cost Gilletes mach3s were really cheaper and better per shave . God Bless . ps you turn counter clockwise to tighten if you looking down from the top its clockwise if you were looking up from the bottom of the sink . Right tight left loose . Works really well this is one of the more affordable adapters for a faucet head you can buy, but it is effective for the water I have where i live. I have old copper piping (100 + years old) and heavy chlorine. I would say this brings the aftertaste and smell of chlorine down by around 90% to a level where water should be in a regular newer construction, rural town hook up location such as where i am. Definatley worth the purchase, and more affordable in the long run. I have owned PUR and Brita filters in the past, but it was an arm and a leg to replace filters. Also, I really am not worried about all the other metals that the facier filters claim to get out, along with bacteria. I hope the water is better than that. If you have bad chlorine or copper taste, this will do the trick taking care of it!!! Good and simple The Culligan Faucet Filter #FM15A is simple to install. It took only five minutes to do so. It removes what it claims and, in the process, also takes out the excessive chlorine taste, leaving water with no taste. Because it accomplishes its intended purpose at a relatively low cost, I must give it five stars. Can't taste a diffrence in the water I bought this in hopes of having a better quality of water. It was easy to install, but the water quality was almost the same. and the little handle that you pulled out stopped working after 2 weeks. I wont be buying this again. I will look for a better quality product. I like it. Very small design. Water tastes much better without the strange odor. Doesnt get in the way, besides, the filter can be rotate around where it is attached to the faucet. Automatically switch back to unfilter once faucet is closed. This actually safe filters life. The price is great. Would recommend it to a friend. Doesn't fit Chicago fixtures! This sounded great - mostly great reviews & low price. No one seemed to have this problem: we have Chicago fixtures, and they are too small for the filter connection. Culligan provides two extra adaptors, but they are for internally threaded faucets, and ours are external - so - no dice. So if you have Chicago fixtures - beware! Now I dont know if Ill find ANY filter that would work with our faucets. Bummer! Works well. Ive been using the faucet filter with no problems. easy to install...water tastes good....no complaints. good for the first day so after installing the unit and using it for a day, it was working fine. however, the second day, the water stream just became way too slow. i dont know if its defective but the water was trickling down. need to call to see what the problem is. the material seems sturdy and well built, just need to resolve this issue because its supposed to be a very nice one. Awesome filter!Highly recommended! The culligan fm-15 is awesome. The water out of it tastes better than the bottled water I was buying, it doesnt get in the way of dish washing, is less expensive and lasts twice as long as the pur one at the store and is very easy to use. Best of all, no more plastic bottles to worry about. Highly recommended..... FINALLY ONE THAT WORKS!!! Okay, tried Brita. That fell apart. Tried PUR. Lasted longer but on wrong tap on it and its a fountain all over the place with leaks from the connection / unfixable. FINALLY...Culligan. THIS THING IS GREAT. Its small. It doesnt leak. The water tastes CLEAN - LOVE the toggle back to tap water all by itself. I replace the reasonably priced cartridge every 2 months no problem... Just skip the rest - So small...sure its white but hey - small price to pay for one that FINALLY WORKS...doesnt LEAK....doesnt crack - terrific. Its a no brainer BUY NOW item! Wooohooo!!! Very good filter I got my first Culligan faucet filter (FM 15) about 2 years ago after doing quite a bit of research. I finally chose the Culligan over Britta and Pur after reading Consumer Reports regarding their testing of water filters. The Culligan filtered out more impurities and the filter lasted MUCH longer than the others. Best of all it was cheaper back then, I dont know if it still is. Ive been very pleased with the filter with one exception. At my old apartment I had great water pressure. I guess too great for the filter. After about 9 months of use the plastic casing started to leak. The good news is that Culligan warranties the filter so I just took it back to Sears (where I got that one) and they gave me a new one. Thus, I still give it a five even with the problem since they warranty it. reasonable price, reasonable performance While i appreciate this units simplicity and affordability, we have had to replace the central unit twice in the last few years. It developed cracks in the top surface and sent a fine spray straight up into the air. It seems like other people have had this problem, too. Still, we bought another, partially because theyre not prohibitively expensive, partially because we still had six replacement filters in our pantry... Very Compact & Convenient, yet possible Quality Control issue So far, I have purchased 3 of these over the past 16 years or so. The first one lasted the longest (appx 8 years) before a small crack appeared in the plastic on the top of the unit. As the crack grew, so did the water leak. The second and third did the same thing over the remaining years, with #3 lasting the shortest time of all - water is now squirting up from the crack. More water is wasted than comes out the bottom of the filter. Sure seems like the quality/strength of the plastic used in manufacturing is going down hill. I very much like the way it works, however; and will be purchasing just one more to replace this `mini fountain. After that, its on to try another brand. Simple & convenient but not the best taste This is a tiny filter thats super-easy to install and use, and doesnt get in the way of using your faucet for washing dishes, etc. I like that its default mode is unfiltered - the filter toggle is held on by water pressure, so when you turn off the tap, the filter turns off too - this means you dont end up using filtered water when you dont need to. However, the taste of the water is really not as nice as the previous Pur filter I used. Great filter system The filter is small compared with most other systems; has a sturdy, metal fixture and pull-knob activator; filters quickly with plenty pressure; and of course it has the great Culligan taste!
