for reference, im a 25 yr old female. anyway. first i purchased another showerhead on this site, the sprite brand filtered one. (i reviewed that one as well.) i wasnt completely satisfied with the water pressure of it although i liked it well enough, and didnt notice much difference in water quality with the filter, so i decided to buy a strong pressured shower like this one claims to be just to try it out, since the reviews were very good. i bought it today from sharper image and just tried it tonite. i am very disappointed. first of all, let me tell you the way the water looks coming out of it is very deceiving... it looks like its got a very strong pressure and would feel fantastic... also its very noisy because of the air as well but dont let that fool you either. the water pressure is actually not good at all unless you pick it up and hold it about an inch from you, then it feels very strong, but it only feels good on your back that way, its too harsh to be close to your face or delicate areas (got that kind of stinging sensation from the water). but when its sitting in its holder several inches from you, it feels weak. like its all air with just a little water. it took a while to even rinse out my hair. as far as the other reviews that say it looks cheap and the hose is too short and that the air might make you cold, none of those things were true for me, well except that i did notice i had to turn the water warmer than usual, i guess the air did cool down the water a bit, but definitely didnt make me cold as one reviewer suggested. but if you want a nice hard, invigorating shower you will probably be very disappointed in this product. its actually weird how much pressure it loses from one inch below it to several inches down. i guess the air really spreads out the water. im happily going back to my sprite showerhead and returning this one tomorrow. I live in the desert and water conservation is extremely important. Most conserving type faucets and shower heads have a marked reduction in the apparent volume of water. Due to the Oxygenics design, however, the reduction of water use is not even missed! This shower head is FORCEFUL! I couldnt be happier. I have recommended this product to all of my friends and family. The style of the head is ergonomic and stylish. It really looks better than any other shower head that I have owned. I bought about five different shower heads before I finally found the right one...the Oxygenics Chrome Body Spa! On: 2007-07-16
I am very happy with my purchase of this product. The water pressure is good. My only complaint is that it is a touch too loud. On: 2007-07-03
I was really suprised when Ive seen this product. It looked so cheap that I almost wanted to return it back, but when we connected to our shower we were shocked how preasure was good and strong. It was worth every penny. On: 2007-06-09
I am so glad that I disregarded the negative reviews and purchased this item. It exceded all my expectations and taking a shower is now the most relaxing experience of my day. On: 2007-04-20
I dont know what hand-held shower heads the other reviewers in this section received, but mine was a piece of plastic junk made to look like metal. And for $50?? What a total rip. The plumbing fitting it came with was stripped and leaked. The swivel piece leaked. The valve piece was filled with some kind of dried grease that I had to dig out. And the head it self rivaled the quality of my 8-year-olds cheapest toys. Whatever you do, dont be fooled into buying this item. Mine is now in the trash, because returning it to Amazon is too much trouble. On: 2007-04-19

My water bill went from 77.50 every 3mos. to 63.50. a savings of over 30%
With much better water pressure. feels almost like you where in a Jacuzzi tub
Also my usage went from 13000 gallons to 8000 gallons every 3 mos. I figure it will pay for itself in less than 1 yr.. On: 2007-03-08
i have very low water pressure. normal shower heads are very disapointing. this shower head is wonderful, plenty of pressure. the price is a bit steep for plastic parts but considering it conserves water and produces a strong water flow im happy. if you dont need a detachable shower head you can buy much cheaper alternatives at most hardware stores. I have thick hair, and low water pressure, put those 2 things together and its a recipe for nothing but bad hair days. Ive bought so many shower sprays with the hope that they would get the shampoo out of my hair, and of course none did what they said it would. They all promise to give a high pressure shower, but there I stood trying to remove the soap from my hair. I saw this on Amazon and thought I what the heck, it cant be any worse than the others that now sit in my drawer of mistakes. I had my husband install it (An easy install) and was wowed, totally wowed! The pressure that came out of the head was unbelievable, I washed my hair and within seconds, the soap was out of my hair, for the first time in years my hair actually felt and was clean. The only suggestion I would have sent to Oxygenics is to put a shut off valve on the unit. There is a flow restricter to slow down the water to a trickle, but a shut off would have made this great product perfect. On: 2007-01-12
One of the best hand held shower heads I have ever used. The only thing Im not crazy about is the location of the shutoff valve at the base of the handle. I have on more than one occasion accidentally turned of the water as Im manipulating the shower head. Substantial water pressure and a great design for getting around all your body parts. I never thought good water pressure was possible in my shower until I bought this showerhead. Its well worth the price. Living in the country and having well water, our pressure isnt great. In fact, its not good at all. But now I actually enjoy the shower and love that it uses less water as well. On: 2007-01-02
I got this showerhead because my boyfriend complained about lack of water pressure and I had seen it reviewed in a catalog that features higher end products.
I found the reviews here helpful but wanted to add a little information to the mix.
It really does increase the water pressure. Particularly at the top of the spray. This is great for shampoo rinsing. The spray fans out significantly and I find that I have to use the hand-held feature to adequately rinse soap from the lower half of my body. This is not a problem if you opt for the model with a hose. The design of the showerhead makes it very comfortable to hold.
Shower times also seem to be reduced since we began using it.
When I turned the shower off after the first use, I noticed that I really was running less than 1/2 the water volume as compared with my old showerhead. I was actually surprised at the reduction in water use.
For some reason, unkonwn to me, it seems to have a lag time when I adjust the water temperature during the shower. I didnt think a 60 inch hose could account for that much lag. But, maybe it does.
The only significant down side I found is the noise level. I know that sounds odd but, all the air mixing apparently makes noise. In this respect, it does remind me of a hotel showerhead. They always seem loud to me.
Since the spray pattern fans out so much, it wets down most of the shower surfaces. This makes spraying the shower with mildew/cleaner more effective. More water on the surfaces to distribute the cleaner. So, that automatic sprayer gadget I bought is really wonderful now.
I hope this information is helpful to anyone considering this purchase. Its not perfect but definitely solves water pressure issues and is easy to install and use. I would definitely purchase it again. On: 2006-12-01
When the plastic parts start breaking (after 6 months or so)
you can find a lot of replacement parts at Home Depot. The lifetime warranty on this unit requires that you have the original receipt and pay 10.00 s&h for the repair parts.
Also Delta makes a nice 2.5 gpm unit for half the price and stores that carry delta carry the parts to maintain them On: 2006-11-28
This is an amazing showerhead for those who have very little water pressure. My husband and I thought wed give it a try after reading the reviews. We are certainly glad we did. This has created the best shower Ive taken in 10 years !! (since moving into our new home). Ive purchased this for my parents as well who have tried everything to get a better pressurized shower out of a very shallow hand dug well. This has been the answer. They have since purchased another for the upstairs shower as well. Great product and well worth every penny !! On: 2006-11-03
I couldnt believe how much pressure it created until I installed and turned it on myself.
Easy as any other shower head to install. Creates Great pressure compared to the last two shower heads Ive replaced.
Even makes it easier to clean the shower walls.
Everyone with low water pressure, definitely needs this.
The ladies will get all that shampoo out with this shower head. On: 2006-08-25
Our homes water pressure is not the greatest but with this new showerhead and its aeration technology youd never know it. The shower even on highest setting is not too harsh. Its like a hard wind driven rain but not so harsh as to be painful or irratating. My spouse said this is the best gadget I ever bought. We first encountered this type of showerhead in Cape May at our hotel. I just had to have it! I found Oxygenics quickly on Amazon and within day we were up an showering. Its high quality, easy to install and priced right. On: 2006-04-02
I was looking for a replacement for my old "Shower Massage" that would consume less water. The old model sucked up 7.5 gallons per minute. This one uses a maximum of 2.5 gpm. For standard, non-hose variety shower heads, I found lots of alternatives. This one was one of the few that has a hose extension, which I prefer to help me clean the shower stall.
Teflon tape was included in the package, which made installation much easier--I didnt have to go out and buy a pack of that. Put it together without any trouble, though I do confess to reading the directions. What was not included was a full description of the flow regulator, which can turn the water completely off while you lather up, should you so desire. When I first turned on the water to check my installation, the flow regulator was in the "off" position of the twist. This was a little alarming. Was forced to use grey cells to figure out what the problem was.
Now, having used this product, I would recommend it to anyone and fully intend to purchase it for my parents and sister. Absolutely a GREAT shower. On: 2006-03-10
This shower head provides a full even spray with a lot of power. I like a shower that is able to provide a lot of pressure. Without this shower head, my shower was more like a sprinkle. Now I can say I am taking a shower.
