This product really helps our hard water situation; however, I have to agree with other reviewers, it doesnt last more than about two months. We have since purchased a "whole house" softener because, over the long-term, the expense will even out.

I live in an area with very hard water and old pipes. After a shower here, my fine hair typically feels dry, frizzy and oily, all at the same time no matter what type of shampoo and conditioner I use.
When I first got the Aquasana filter Aquasana AQ-4100 Deluxe Shower Water Filter System with Adjustable Showerhead, it worked great. My hair felt normal again, my soap lathered properly and completely rinsed off. Unfortunately, the filtration effects lessened noticeably within a month and went rapidly downhill from there. I do shower daily but they claim the filter should last six months before needing replacement. Id say mine lasted two months, max. Given that the replacements are so pricey, its tough to invest in something that doesnt really last.
Side Note: This product reminds me of the racket the razor companies pull on consumers by charging reasonable prices for the razor itself but ridiculously high prices for replacement blades. Not cool.

I have been using this filter for a number of years and I must say that this is a GREAT price. Ebay auctions are the same or more unless youre super lucky and Aquasanaa water for life auto-ship program is the same.

This Aquasana water filter is the same as The Jonathan Water Filter Purification System sold on QVC. The Aquasana Filter is about $15.00 less than The Jonathan Filter with his name on it.
