Great!     On: 2010-07-31

Overall this is great. Drips a little when the water is running, but I havent taken it apart yet to see if I can just tighten it.
Good stuff     On: 2010-07-16

Weve had this for several weeks now and are very pleased with the results. Cant give it five stars because there is a small leak where the spout connects and sometimes the diverter will not close when faucet is turned off. Nevertheless, we like the improved taste of our water and having to replace the filter but once a year.
Easy way to improve your drinking water     On: 2010-05-07

We installed this filter about a week ago, using the undersink conversion kit (see separate review). Our municipal water scores well on safety but poorly in taste tests. This filter has greatly improved its drinkability.
Effective, easy, reliable, fast     On: 2010-03-31

It costs less than cheaper filters. Where I live, water filters available at the grocery store (Brita, etc.) run about $20 each and last for about three months with two people using them for drinking and cooking. New Wave Enviro Premium 10 Stage Water Filters ($60/each) last for a year. In a year, I would be spending $80 with the others.

It works better than cheaper filters:

The grocery store filters left limestone particulates floating in my water. Its not dangerous to consume, but it affects taste and thats why I filter my water in the first place.

The grocery store filters require a lot of time to use. If you use the pitcher types, you have to fill, wait for it to pass through the filter, repeat. Ugh. If you use the kind that attach to your faucet, they slow water to a teeny trickle. If you want to fill a pan to make pasta, it takes *forever*. With this filter, it doesnt require any of that. I just turn the faucet on, pull a knob, and water flows through the filter with enough subsequent water pressure to quickly fill a drinking glass, a pan, or a coffee carafe. No waiting required.

Im very happy with this product.
awesome product - very well made     On: 2009-12-20

This is an awesome product. Mine works perfectly, and is very well made. Like everything mechanical, you need to treat it with reasonable care and it works great. To people who are breaking the little "on" knob valve: the instructions tell you very clearly and very specifically DO NOT PUSH VALVE IN TO STOP THE FLOW OF FILTERED WATER - or you will wear out the knob valve prematurely. Obviously that is true, so DONT DO IT. Its a very minor thing to adapt to, after a couple uses I automatically turn water off at sink. Also the instructions very clearly say DONT RUN HOT WATER THROUGH IT, if done repeatedly filter will wear out prematurely. So dont do that either. This unit is very compact and sits nicely on the back of my tiny apartment kitchen sink. The filtered water spigot swivels to wherever you need it to, its very convenient. Water tastes great and is much safer for you health. I love mine.
GREAT FILTER. I HAD IT TESTED. WATER IS CLEAN AND HEALTHY!     On: 2009-11-12

I LOVE THIS WATER FILTER. I had the water from it tested and the results were great! It was very easy to set up, Im a housewife and I set it up easily on my own. After using Brita and Purell which was a drag to always have to change the filters and the Purell always leaked off my faucet. I took the water filtered from the Purell and Brita filters into my holistic doctor who tests water and he found that the Brita and Purell were inadequate at filtering out all of the contaminants that are found in city tap water... city or no city, I do not trust tap water from anywhere. He said that those filters made the water a little better than the tap water I was filtering but not much. I bought the New Wave Enviro 10 Stage water filter unit because I wanted a water filter that was EFFECTIVE at removing all bad things found in our tap water. Most filters that do this are all over a couple hundred dollars, some of them are as high as $1200. You can pick this filter up for under $100 here on Amazon. I bought it from Whole Foods for $129 and am very very happy with it. Once I set it all up I filled a bottle with it and took the filtered water immediately into my holistic doctor to test because if the water wasnt properly filtered I was going to return it. Good news, THIS FILTER EFFECTIVELY FILTERS all the contaminants out. I am so excited to have found A GREAT WATER FILTER FOR ABOUT $100. CANT BEAT THAT. We absolutely love this water filter in our household. My only personal recommendation would be to change the filter 2 months sooner than they suggest if you drink a lot of water ( more than half a gallon a day per person for a 3 person household and if you cook with the filtered water too )
We are what we eat and drink! Whether you go with this filter or another one, make sure you take the time to do the research and get a water filter that really does the job right. There are a lot of filters out there that get your water to taste better but you want a water filter that gives you TRULY CLEAN AND HEALTHY WATER and water that is the BEST FOR YOUR HEALTH and the health of your family. This is the water filter of choice for me and my family. I often give it as gifts to friends and family too. Happy sipping.
Best water filter I have found     On: 2009-05-13

I have tried a lot of filters the ones you can buy in supermarket and I go through them in a month. I drink about a gallon day myself I figured the price difference between both. Also between those filters you can buy in the supermarket and others I have tried this filters taste better even better than bottle water. I lived where there is hard water, sulfur water this cleans that water even clorine(sp)burn from city or town water. In the long run without buying any bottle water and without changing filter every month or other and the taste of clean water you cant go wrong.
A million times better than bottled     On: 2009-02-16

I HATE tapwater. I will NOT drink it! I grew up on springwater, and the taste of chlorine is disgusting to me. So, before I got this wonderful gadget, my husband and I would take turns driving to the organic super market and filling up our 5 gallon jug and then lugging it home, sometimes three times a week! Needless to say, that got old fast!

When I bought this I was very skeptical that it would work. However, it performs FLAWLESSLY, and makes water that tastes just as good if not better than bottled. I drink loads more water now that I dont have to worry about running out. Easy set up, easy use- the most complicated thing about it is remembering to let the water get cold first before you turn it on if you were running the hot water first.

If you hate your tap water, GET THIS PRODUCT! You will not be disappointed!
Satisfied Customer     On: 2008-12-20

I have been pleased with this product however I am very glad that I also ordered the conversion kit, an ideal combination, if you order the conversion kit make sure you know something about plumbing.
Constantly breaks, rotten product support     On: 2008-08-07

This unit worked okay for a couple of months, then the diverter valve malfunctioned. They shipped me a new one, but that one was defective too. Im on my third diverter valve, and frankly Im tired of having to change this part. The description of this item does not let you know that you will constantly have to be replacing a key part or the thing wont work. So, in addition to replacing the filter, youll also have to contact their customer support to have them repeatedly send you a new part. You will have to install this part also, taking up your time. If the filter ever malfunctions, be prepared to open the filter yourself and troubleshoot it with their customer service people, and youre lucky if you can open the damn thing. I soaked mine and still could not open it.

Bottom line, yeah it filters water, but with the added hassle of many many part changes. Ive only had the thing 6-7 months and already Ive changed the part in question 3 times. Somehow they always manage to send me defective parts too, imagine that. And they are under the mistaken assumption that if the diverter valve malfunctions, they are not responsible for honoring the 1 year warranty because "the filter itself is still working" !! and because they sell the diverter valve separately as well...even though you cannot get water out of it with the diverter valve malfunctioning. You figure that one out. So, just because they also charge some people money for this part in question, therefore when that part breaks down on the filter, its not their problem. I told them Im tired of changing this part and could I get a unit that works - nope! Theyll just keep sending me new (defective) diverter valves.

So....I just thought other buyers should know what theyre getting themselves into with this product....many part changes every 2 months. Rotten product support, and it sounds like they only honor the 1 year warranty if the filter inside conks out. If anything else malfunctions, youre screwed. And since they are shipping units out with defective parts (and keep sending ME these defective parts as replacements), you can bet that yours will probably have a defective part too.

If the filter would just work properly without so much time invested on my part, then Id give it 5 stars. But because I have to keep changing this part and will have to keep doing so into the foreseeable future, I give it one star. This is just an unacceptable defect for a filter that is this expensive.
Great overall, small glitch     On: 2008-06-30

I purchased this filter about 3 months ago, so writing on 3 months of continual use.

I live in Sofia, Bulgaria, and the city waters a bit dodgy. Ex: If you leave for a few days and come back, lots of rusty colored brown water pours out the first minute or so of running the tap.

PROS:
Overall, I *love* the water filter:

Its easy to set up,
The water seems to come out pretty clean/tastey. Ive been using various Brita filters in the past, and I prefer this one. It could be psychosomatic, just *thinking* that its a bigger & beefier filter, but...
Its also convenient, no frequent filter changes and it takes up very little counter space. I also didnt like to have to remember the Brita filter changes.

CONS:
The only downside is that the auto turn-off feature is a bit sketchy. Mine stopped working after 1 week. Theres a small metal valve on the faucet that you pull out to get the water re-routed to the filter. When you turn off the faucet, this value is supposed to auotmatically pop back into place. The thing broke pretty fast, which is dissapointing. Now, when the water faucet is turned off, I have to remember to manually push it back. Theres some warning in the instructions that you shouldnt push it back into position when the water is still running (which I didnt), so Im mindful to push it back in only when Im finished.

Id give her 5 stars if the build quality of the valve was better!

Good service.     On: 2008-06-21

Bought a New Wave Enviro - Premium 10 Stage Countertop Water Filter System
which saved me quite a bit off the store price. No problems with it.
Arrived quite a bit sooner than promised.
Great filter~     On: 2008-06-19

We bought this filter at a local health food store, and paid too much ($125 + tax).

We have had this filter for about 10 days now and love it! We did have a PUR water filter on our kitchen sink faucet, but now we have this ENVIRO filter and what a WORLD of difference!

The water tastes so clean, not metallic as when we simply had a PUR carbon filter on our kitchen sink faucet. This ENVIRO filter puts the water through 10 stages of filtering. I wish we had a filter like this for the bathroom sink!

Also, the water came out so slow when using a simple carbon filter (like PUR or BRITA). However, with this ENVIRO filter, the water comes out in a steady, smooth stream from the spicket on the filter itself.

This item was very easy to set up. And, each time you use it, you simply pull this little metal stick knob and then turn on the faucet and the water flows smoothly from the filter. When you have all the filtered water you want you simply turn the faucet off, and with the release of the water pressure, the stick knob goes back into its original position (without one having to mess with the knob).

Highly reccommended!

For municipal tap water only (well water a no no?)     On: 2008-05-23

I have not yet used this filter, but am reading reviews. On the box of this filter it says:
"WARNING: For use on municipal tap water only." The other reviewer was using this filter on well water.
Just noticed.
I spoke too soon - not a 5 star - maybe a 2-3 star     On: 2008-01-04

I originally gave this 5 stars but after 2 months it stopped working. We cleaned the filter as directed but it still wasnt taking the lime/calcium out of the well water even though it wasnt even close to the 600 gallon suggested replacement level. I purchased a replacement filter anyway but that didnt last any longer than the first filter. I dont know if its because this water is so bad but that was the reason I purchased it; it said it was specifically for bad water. I cant seem to change it from a 5 star though. Here was my original review.....
It was so easy to set-up and the water pressure is pretty good. I use it to fill gallon jugs for coffee & drinking. The $55 cost of the replacement filters is great considering .79 per gallon at the store x 600 gallons is about $475. The only surprise was on inital set-up; requires running clean water thru for several minutes then letting it set for 24-hrs. So far it seems to be worth it.
