 Aprilaire Stock 2200 Filter Media, 2-Pack By: Aprilaire Average Rating: 5.0 Total Reviews: 8 More Information A Do-It-Yourself Replacement at Half the Cost!  On: 2010-08-20I have an Aprilaire 2200 that calls for the #201 replacement filter. I normally have this filter changed once per year. This year has been a long hot summer and my AC Unit has been running overtime. So, I checked my filter at 9 months, and sure enough it was filthy--which means it has been doing its job! My plumber charges me $53 for this same filter-not including the service call. So I figured Id try Amazon before I called them for just a simple filter change. I tried another companys product (20x25x6 Merv 8)that says it was a replacement for the Aprilaire 2200, and found that it didnt really fit my unit. It was a lower quality and their were less pleats than the original and they were going in a different direction, which doesnt allow for the black separating combs to be used. I since returned those, and found this replacement where the picture verified the actual replacement filter. So, after promptly receiving these (2 PACK for the price of 1), I quickly did the filter change. It really only takes minutes to replace. If you cant figure it out on your own, the easy steps are printed right on the carton. Better quality (Merv 10) at half the cost! Aprilaire Filter is great On: 2010-08-05Saved significant cash (over HVAC service company price) for these filters which are a snap to install. Buy with confidence from this vendor. I would purchase from them again!!! Delighted to find Aprilaire on Amazon! On: 2009-12-14A couple of years ago, I had a new ac/heater system installed, from the ground up. The contractor was very enthused about Aprilaire Filters, setting up the system to utilize Aprilaire 2200. I was very surprised when I first saw the huge size of the filters (they are several inches deep, and do look like an accordion), and read that one filter could last up to a year before changing, while performing at high efficiency for removal of airborne allergens. After the job was completed, I asked where I might find replacement filters. I was disappointed when told that the closest supplier was halfway across town. This was a big inconvenience, for someone who had previously been able to purchase filters from the local grocery store. I was upset I had not been given this piece of information prior to installation, because I might have decided on a different system. On a lark, I decided to search Amazon to see if they sold Aprilaire Filters---and there they were. Now, not only did I not have to drive for over an hour for replacements, these filters were delivered to my door with the click of a button, with speedy, professional service. I must admit that the first time I replaced the filter, myself, I did resort to some cursing. This is not a simple slide the old one out, and slide the new one in, system. This one requires some construction, loading the filter media into the permanent frame. But, after the second change, it became easier, and no longer a dreaded task. As far as the filtration goes, these filters do NOT last a year in my home. But, I do have a 115 lb, long-haired dog, that tracks in a lot of dirt and dust, despite my best efforts to keep him clean. I wont go over 6 months, to ensure maximum efficiency, so this does add to the cost factor, for me. Still, overall, Im satisfied---more so, with the convenience of delivery. Working Well for 11 Years  On: 2009-11-24Ive been using Aprilaire 2200 for eleven years. My wife and son both have allergies and the filters seem to help. They could be easier to change, but it only takes five minutes. It is much less expensive for me to buy online and replace than to have a furnace repair person do it. Good Price Filter On: 2009-10-19OEM Product at a price below our local Lowes and well below my heating contractor. I will buy these again from this site Works Well On: 2009-08-25This filter works well in our HVAC system. It lasts in on area, which is dusty,for about a year before needing to be changed. The twin pack was a better value for the money than buying just one filter. As advertised On: 2009-08-12Ordered the Filters and they were promptly delivered and just what we needed for our air conditioner. |
